Molly Malone is an Oirish Anthem associated with Dublin.

Here are the original words in full for anyone wishing to make some words around the chorus:

In Dublin's fair city,
where the girls are so pretty,
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone,
As she wheeled her wheel-barrow,
Through streets broad and narrow,
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!"

"Alive, alive, oh,
Alive, alive, oh",
Crying "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh".

She was a fishmonger,
And sure 'twas no wonder,
For so were her father and mother before,
And they each wheeled their barrow,
Through streets broad and narrow,
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!"

(chorus)

She died of a fever,
And no one could save her,
And that was the end of sweet Molly Malone.
Now her ghost wheels her barrow,
Through streets broad and narrow,
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!"

(chorus)

Harmonies, counter melodies, a bit of beatbox from the south stand nippers and maybe a Round! Take it to the next level!

Wally can orchestrate from the technical area. BRING IT ON!!

Don't know why we fail so miserably on this score. Ever since I was a Nip of a wee lad watching with my dad, all I wanted to do was sing my socks off for the lads and with the lads.

Now dad had sadly departed and I find myself sitting next to those S* dd*ng accountant types that somebody mentioned earlier!!

So two things for next season ST

a) Must find better seat
b) Must learn to sing (about the fans singing) 'We're Sh*t and we know we are..'

Sing a song of sixpence
A stadium full of plastics
We only sing Blue Army
'Caus of all the spastics
When the team are winning
We'll all clap along too
But in general -
we have noticed -
our support is f uckin poo.

The best song that was ever created has never caught on:

Hunt, Hunt wherever you maybe
We don't care if you dropped your knee
It culd hav been cech, or cudicini,
Next time we'll fk your 3rd goalie

Stephen Hunt went up the field to drop his knee on petr...
... Cech went down and broke his crown and Carlo came tumbling after

Jerry St Clair Give up, We have a stadium full of self-concious accountants who can just about manage to clap along BLARMY but fail miserably to show any other kind of emotion.

We already have a Reading song. It's called Molly Malone. If no-one can be arsed to sing that, what makes you think manufacturing a new one will make any difference?

This was Burnley's (at least, probably others)donkeys years before us, Im afraid

With credit to the 'nobber who suggested in a previous HNA format:- 'Jimmy Kebe, Kebe, here comes Jimmy Kebe' etc to the tune of 'Johnny Reggae Reggae' 8)

Maybe we need something more upbeat that the oldies can relate to. Why not a bit of Status Quo, say, for instance:-

Get down deeper and down
down down deeper and down
down down deeper and down
get down deeper and down
Etc.

What could be more uplifting than that?

Alan Partridge Ingimarsson
he won't put a foot wrong
we've got a great right back and Marcus Hahnemann
Shorey is sure, Sonko is strong
We've got a great right back and Marcus Hahnemann

Or just Bill Oddie

That is a lush song! possibly leave out 'marcus' as it fits better.I'm going to teach this to some of my mates

[quote="RFC13LHR"] was in Portsmouth City,
Where the girls are so pretty,
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly
Malone,
She wheeled her wheelbarrow,
Through streets wide and narrow,
Singing
[clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]
[clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] PORTSMOUTH
http://www.footballchants.org/viewChant ... mouth&p=22
is it really ours??

I nevr knew that Portsmouth claimed it, but as far as I am concerned,it has been Reading's song for many many years.

I, like a previous poster favour "Always on my mind" I don't know of any other club using it, and it has a "sweeping" kind of melody like "You'll never walk alone" has.

I sait in the West stand and though there a a few around me who will join in, you need a strong voice to be able to start songs so we rather rely on the East stand and North stand groups.

Here is one, to the tune of who the fcuk are man united. To be sung once our savior starts setting up goals, which should be Sunday I think:

I'm a mate of Matejovsky
I'm a mate of Matejovsky
I'm a mate of Matejovsky
And the Czech will keep us up! (up up up)
