Sarah Star It's in the Guardian now:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008 ... .stokecity

Stoke City are expected to announce within the next 48 hours that Dave Kitson has agreed to join the newly promoted Premier League club for about £3m. It is understood that Kitson's representatives have held talks with Stoke after Reading sanctioned the striker's departure.

The 28-year-old, who had also been a target for Birmingham City, scored 60 goals during his 4½ years with Reading, including 10 in the Premier League last season. Birmingham have instead signed Marcus Bent on a three-year contract from Charlton Athletic in a deal that could be worth more than £1m.

Absolutely gutted but we've gotta deal with it and bring in players who want to be here and could do a job obviously.
E.g : Kris Boyd, Frazer Campbell on loan etc

Vision Yep we're gonna buy Simon Cox for 750k and pay ourselves from the sell on clause.

For some reason, that would make up for selling Kitson for me...and yes I know it shouldn't.

Just seen this on the Havant match report:

Official site Dave Kitson again missed the game through illness but will hopefully be involved at stadium:mk on Saturday.

I'm still hoping that he stays!

We're a f*cking joke.

On a point of a more practical nature. Red and violent orange? Kitson's going to clash horribly with the kit...

Looks like his cold might be better by tomorrow.

STOKE City are closing fast on a deal for Reading striker Dave Kitson which will obliterate the club's transfer record.
The Sentinel understands the deal could eventually total £4m if 28-year-old Kitson becomes Stoke's first summer signing and then goes on to be a big success in their debut Premier League campaign.
Fulham and Wigan were also reported to be monitoring Kitson's availability, but appear to have shifted their sights elsewhere in recent days after moving in for other strike targets.
Pulis wants Kitson's finishing ability, work-rate and aggression to complement and enhance his existing attack.
His arrival would also strengthen the look of a Stoke frontline already weakened by the current absence of injured star striker Ricardo Fuller.

It remains to be seen whether Kitson's signing will be completed in time for him to come under serious consideration for tomorrow evening's first pre-season friendly at Newcastle Town (6.45pm kick-off).

This could end up being the biggest mistake we will have ever made since selling Carl Asaba. Where will the goals come from now?

Where did they come from last season? DK got 2 in his last 17 matches.

They'll actually come from a striker who's hungry for success and wants to play for us - they certainly won't come from a player who has an offer elsewhere that he wants to take if we stop him from leaving.

How exactly are we making a mistake? Should we force him to stay and to play for us?

I have it on good authority a bid from Stoke has been accepted for Kitson, however there is a sumbling block....Kitson wants to Hold Out until one or more Spurs strikers futures have been sorted (sold in other words), as he fancies a move to them and wants to see if they would be interested

'greed. We don't want a player that doesn't want to be here and is going to be a pain in the arse to have around, but we'll still be losing our best centre forward.

It's what happens to relegated clubs.

Still doesn't disguise the fact that he has been our top scorer for two of the past three seasons.
