Sun Tzu Coppell says that he has been brought to SUPPLEMENT the midfield, which either suggests no one is leaving or that Coppell is being diplomatic !

He's obviously a kick in the teeth for those crying out for big names, but of course that bloke from Barnsley is still a possibility.

LOL at anyone disappointed at this signing.

if he had waited a couple of days he could have had the no 10 shirt, rather than 37!

Still very pleased - a typical Coppell signing and that is a good thing

Convey not picked for the reserves again tonight, so hopefully he is going rather than Shunt

Hopefully they're both going with JCR coming in as well.

yuomi Jay Anthony Tabb (born 21 February 1984 in Tooting, Greater London) is an Anglo-Irish professional footballer, currently playing for Coventry City.

He is a skillful, combative player with a good first touch and shows composure in front of goal.

A replacement for Sidwell at last ???? I hope so

Agree a classic Sir Steve signing , shrewd and done to replace one going , probably Shunty and a good few million bob in Sir Johns fat back pocket

Number 5 is also free, unless Tabby wanted 37, is that the age he'll be here till?

winchester_royal Strong rumours that he'll be signing tomorrow. Good news if true, lovely little player in my opinion, and can pass the ball unlike most of our midfield.

Any links?

Word of mouth, Cov fans seem pretty convinced that he's already gone, also my mate's dad works at the Mad Stad and he says its about to happen. Normally I wouldn't pay a blind bit of notice but there are rumours coming from all angles.

Well done Winchester for being first up with a "definite" rather than just a "might".

Bit of info from a Coventry fan

Gutted to lose him tbh. :( You have a real player there with good feet who will run all day and will prove be a quality acquisition for you. Knew he was off for a while as he wanted to be closer to his family. He was voted fans player of the year here last season.

Good luck Jay and thanks for all your efforts

then

Not a winger as has no great pace, but often asked to play wide left or wide right midfield for Coventry, although he prefers to play in the middle and if he has a kicker next to him then that is his best position. He has a superb range of passing and uses the ball intelligently.

New signing Jay Tabb will wear squad number 37.

Don't know anything about him, looking forward to seeing him play.

looks like a bargain £250k according to a couple of Sky Blues forums. Opinions seem a bit mixed as to whether he is any good or not.

Really pleased for Tabby - you have signed an intelligent player and very hardworking player who always made time for the fans. I don't remember anybody at GP having a bad word to say about him and it sounds like Coventry fan felt the same. And he can play a bit too.

If only for him and Ivar I might actually want you go back up again this season (through gritted teeth)!

Basically - he can play anywhere in midfield.
Superb.
I'm excited.

Let's see what Coppell decides to do with him. Lets hope he slots into the first team with ease. He will play to please and will push the flagging midfield.

Maybe a run at Doncaster if not introduced as a late sub.

I'd say he would at least cost 600k
