Wolves, the Next Three Games

by Snowball » 06 Feb 2009 11:19

Tomorrow they are away to Coventry, a derby game, certainly not easy

Then away to Burnley

Then home to Cardiff

Maybe they will win at Coventry but it's one they could lose
and Burnley & Cardiff will be very tough

Predictions? Three draws?

Not sure predicting the Wolves games matters too much, need to worry about our own form.

But Fwiw. 7 points.

Win against Coventry and Burnley, draw against Cardiff.

To be honest, I'm more concerned about Birmingham's games than Wolves'

They have:

7/2 - Burnley (h)
14/2 - Nottm Forest (h)
21/2 - Coventry (a)

Frankly, those are all winnable and would put a LOT of pressure on us for the 2nd spot.

'Tis true. We could finish with 106 points (nice ring to it, eh?) and still end up second.

It's much more important to see these three results in the next three weeks:

(W) Reading - PNE (L)
(L) Derby - Reading (W)
(W) Reading - Bristol City (L)

can see them getting 5/6 points out of that to be honest, either win two lose one, or win one draw two.

If we got 3 points at Derby in the next 3 weeks it would be a bloody miracle as the game has already been re-scheduled for April.

9 points from our 3 games in February (all are at home) would be a solid platform before a very hard fixture list in March (6 games- 4 of which are away).

Now that you mention it, I remember reading that.

I think Burnley v Wolves is off due to Burnley being in FA Cup

You think wrong.. Burnley don't know who they are playing yet as the rsenal/Cardiff replay is not until the 14th Feb, hence Burnley v Wolves goes ahead as scheduled.

I mean on strict form they should be favourites, but it's a derby match
against a side that's already beaten Birmingham so Wolves could lose

Personally I think they won't win, or beat Cardiff or Burnley (even though that one is postponed)

Shirley this thread should be in general football as it is not directly assocciated with Reading.

If we play too our best, Wolves results are meaningless.

On anther note, I think they will draw with Cardiff and beat Burnley and Coventry.

We've played them twice, taken 6 points, and we're still behind them. Unless you're happy to concede the title we need them to slip up regardless of our own performances.

I can see them slipping up at Burnley and maybe against Cardiff but they should be able to deal with Coventry today. I'll be chuffed to bits if they only get 4-6 points from those three games.

Putting our title aspirations aside I'll be looking for them to beat Brum on 4th April.

Providing we go up I want Wolves and one of Swansea or Burnley to go up with us.

That would be the same coventry that have just lost their two best players in Misfud and Tabb. Frankly I can Coventry going down and not getting more than ten more points this season.
