How about Siggurdsson Royalee? He did well at Crewe....could he make an impact based on tonight's showing?

I think Long just needs to give up and start busking with his guitar. Even tonight I'm told his first touch was awful. Needs 3-4 touches at all times. Gives the ball away continuously. To be fair, he's a reasonable finisher. Just a shit footballer.

The worrying thing for me about Long is his lack of intelligence and movement. He plays far too often with his back completely to goal and his touch isn't good enough to do it - the ball doesn't stick to him and he struggles to find space, which you'd think he'd have learnt by now.

Church on the other hand was always playing off the last defender and was running through several times looking like scoring and but for the ineptitude of the linesman on our side, he probably would have had a couple more one on ones and added to his goals. He looked far better in terms of movement and running with the ball, which was positive. I still think we're a striker short though, even with N Hunt returning.

Well he scored and did what was asked of him - didn't stand out but then nobody apart from the two I've mentioned did immensely. I certainly wouldn't write him off though and it'll be interesting to see how he does in the next few friendlies - didn't look out of place. The main star was definitely Robson-Kanu though.

Thanks.

Any notable change in the style of football being played yet? Or was today merely a fitness exercise?

We did try and keep it on the deck noticeably, me and a couple of mates I was with were saying this, although obviously the test will be if we do the same with less time on the ball against Championship sides. Still, you can only play against what's in front of you and I thought we passed it reasonably well and there were a few give and goes including Robson-Kanu in the first half and Henry and Church in the second.

'greed. Always wanted the ball and looked good when on it.

Tonights game was just a run out tbh and I'm sure Rodgers would have said before the game not to bust a gut. Did the job and lets move onto the next game.

I thought Bozanic showed a few nice touches but gave the ball away a bit too much. He's obviously quite gifted technically but I'm not sure he can stand up physically to the Championship or that the former is good enough to carry him through on this occasion, especially playing in the middle - I think he'd be better suited out wide. That said, he's struggled with illness in the past which will have held him back and he's got time on his side.
