How old are you?

by Einstein agogo » 30 Jan 2010 14:29

Judging by a lot of comments on here i am thinking there's lots of newish / young royals fans , who don't appreciate where we've come from.
Of course anyone who pays a lot of cash to watch their team has a right to critisize , I just feel older fans like me are a bit more patient and deep down would settle for a year or two in div one , rather than administration.. and you youngsters have years of watching reading ahead of you , if i die at the average i've 35 years left.
please reply honestly

I don't think age has anything to do with it, some people are just more inclined to think a certain way.

i dont think my age (28) has much to do with anything and, if it does, it certainly doesnt need to be on the team board.

if youre a fan, irrespective of age, you will want to know the history of your club and you will relish finding out about days of old so as to understand the importance of success and try to gauge the effects on the club, fanbase, finances etc. part of loving something (from women, to music, football and whatever else...) is finding out about it. you can be a sixty five year old plastic or a nineteen year old diehard, age doesnt matter a jot.

IMO.

This just isn't right. Among the most vocal critics have been strap, 2WW, Dodger, Ankeny, Terminal Boardom, Ark and others who will be happy to tell you tales of cold nights in Exeter and Carlisle 30 or more years ago. I just think there's a certain personality, whatever the age, that takes every error and inflates it into a catastrophe. There's no middle ground.

That and some people just loathe John Madejski. I understand that, but I don't think it's rational.

I am right roughy 100% of the time.

When I was younger I was right about 100% time.

I don't think age makes a difference.

ankeny Yes,I do remember cold nights in fourth division football grounds,we dont want them back again do we.

Who cares? Proper football, that.

It's just the relegations that go with getting there that'd be the problem. That and the embarrassment of having 6,000 home gates in a big stadium again.

i think age isnt a factor, im 24, my dad took me to my first game when i was four and ive been going ever since. i appreciate the dark days of 2000 gates as much as i do a full house against manure. i also think a lot of band wagon jumpers we've picked up in the last few years also do. its not the appreciation of the old days thats the problem. more the fact its taken so long to climb up and less than a few to (to some) 'fall'.

I think you've omitted the 's/l' part of the question.

Oldest poster must be that Cpl Jones, who's witnessed something like 14 relegations for the club.
