Improved defence = Fed more comfortable. No real surprise there.

many keepers will make mistakes having to deal with the number of shots he's had to try and save in a lot of games this season.

This.

Howard was superb. Feds had a great game- but stopping goals is kind of what we pay him for.

Although perceived wisdom is that it is much harder for a keeper who has little to do to pull off the crucial saves when they do happen...

One day I'm sure a player will be praised an no one will try and find a way to take the edge off that praise !!

Given the amount of stick Fed has taken for some displays, he deserves every accolade for today. He was outstanding. The one in injury time - I scared the dog senseless by screaming obscenity as the ball went in - wait a minute - then scared the hell out of him again celebrating the save.

But he did dive the wrong way for the penalty. He's obviously completely useless.

What are you talking about? I'm doing nothing to take the edge of the praise for him.

Idiot.

This 'did what we expected of him' arguement is the biggest load of o*ford i've heard. We expect our strikers to score goals, and they barely do, we expect our defenders to stop other teams' strikers, they barely do, yet when they do they get covered in praise. Federici makes match winnning saves and apparently its only 'what we expected of him.'

Well played Adam Federici.
