Your star pensions

by HoneyRoastHoax » 13 Jul 2012 16:14

Dear Star

Ive just read a bit of your rule book.

You say

4. In order to achieve its objects the Society may either itself or through a subsidiary company or society acting under its control:

f) award pensions, allowances, gratuities and bonuses to past and present employees (including their dependants and people connected with them) of:
(i) the Society;
(ii) any predecessor of the Society; and
(iii) any subsidiary company or society of the Society;

Then go on to say

72. Save for the exceptions referred to below, no Society Board member is to have any material financial interest personally or as a member of a firm or company or as a director or other officer of a business trading for profit or in any other way whatsoever in any contract or other transaction with the Society.

I would say getting a pension is a financial interest am I wrong?

Yes you are wrong as STAR has no employees as yet. Board members are not employees.

That rule is in there as the model rules are designed to cope with Trusts that own and run their football club and so there are a lot of aspects that are not applicable to STAR as it stands.

FYI all the members of the Board give their time for nothing and often are out of pocket as they are not paid travelling expenses, unless representing STAR at a national event.

I am glad that you have made the effort to read our rules though.

Thank you for replying, I just thought it odd.

With all the talk of the "rules" I thought I would actually read them.

HRH - as you've read the rules - where is the one that says you must not repeat anything said at a Fans' Forum?

It doesn't. Nothing in there about that.

There we go then, Cypry did nothing wrong - how is he meant to know the "rules" if they're not written down/spoken about. :roll:

I, for one, look forward to the apology to Cypry when the powers that be at STAR realise how rather over the top their responses have been towards him. They should be thanking him for bringing this loophole in the rules to their attention.
