STAR statements - June 2014

There's a longer than usual statement on the STAR website about the ownership situation.

There's also a response from a STAR Board member to the comment thread on TTE on a similar subject.

Interesting article, and fair play for giving frank views, something which I know STAR has been accused of not doing in the past.

The combination of these two factors has led to a fall in the notional value of the club from (maybe) £25 million to (apparently) £1.

I find this extraordinary and don't really understand how this has happened - what have I missed? How can the club be worth so much less than this time last year?

And as fans should we really care? Ok STAR's nominal stake has decreased but that was never a financial investment really. SJM & AZ are the only ones facing a

I presume the club has lost money during 2013-14 and its prospects are not as good as they were. These figures are cribbed - with caveats - from published material. It would appear that subsequent developments suggest £1 is an under-estimate.

Yeh fair play. You have to wonder if the club was over valued in the first place, and perhaps AZ realised this.
