How about a mini tournament?

Reading Legends, BBCRB, Team Burbs and Hobnob.

Could be a decent charity event. People sponsor each goal scored.

alad How about a Hobnob v BBCRB game for charity? People could sponsor it per goal or something.

Nobber side would have to include a split of Burbs and Nobbers, say 5/6.

As long as Legend isn't in goal.

get the wags charity involved, and run a book on first goal scorers/score/ht/ft etc..

soon as you mention charity, people love it

Change of plans, a mini tournament would be better, say 7 a side either across the pitch or in the Madejski Dome.

I meant a team of Reading legends. Old players like Salako, Gilkes etc.

"The Ollie bloke"... Rest assured that I actually work at BBC Berkshire and haven't just been being a bit stalkerish about the phone-in for a few months :D.

Can't see us getting a team together til the summer but I'm personally very keen on this, so if it doesn't happen, it's not my fault. I'll hassle people when I think it's an opportune moment.

An earlier point was made about the Royal Families, it's not actually a charity, it's a company which does work for the charities they chose. Thought i'd clear that up.

I have contacts with a "legend" - I'm pretty sure I can get him and the others involved if required.

There's potential here to make some cash for charitable causes.

couldn't hold it at the dome though, as there is not sufficient "viewing" space iirc.

I'm expecting RFC won't allow use of the Mad Stad for free. So we might have to go with Palmer Park or somewhere, just tell Schards you're playing at Rivermead and he'll turn up in the correct place.

Surely if the WAG's were involved they could pull a few strings regarding getting the Madejski pitch, especially if it was for charity, I agree that the dome wouldn't have enough viewing space though.

If it was 7 a side aswell then a mixed team of Hobnob and Burbs might have too many wanting to play, maybe a mixed 'a' and 'b' team could be arranged, or just revert back to a burbs team and a hobnob team.

It could be a knockout competition similar to the Hobnob BBQ of a few years back. This will allow at least a couple of hobnob teams and other hobnob friendly associations to take part.

I doubt you'd get many wanting to watch though to be honest.

Maybe we can lie and tell them they get 20 Royalty points for turning up.
