Hey Tosh, got a Toshiba?

Reading Football Club are very pleased to announce Toshiba as our new sleeve sponsor for this weekend’s Fourth Round Emirates FA Cup tie against Manchester United.

Toshiba, a leading TV brand, has also agreed to be the club’s official Television Partner for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.

As part of this collaboration, Toshiba will benefit from brand exposure when we take on Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup and any potential replay which may result from that cup tie.

Supporters will also see the Toshiba branding feature in and around the Select Car Leasing Stadium for the rest of the Royals’ campaign. And Royals fans should look out for competitions run by Toshiba this week, which will include opportunities to win Toshiba TV products!

I wonder how Toshiba will feel when their product is associated with a substantial and very public walloping.

Sutekh Toshiba, a leading TV brand

I guess "leading" is open to interpretation but I'd be surprised if they have more than few % market share.

It's all Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic these days isn't it?

Didn't think I'd seen one in years, so just looked on the John Lewis website, and they do actually stock 7 models:

Toshiba (7)
LG (55)
Linsar (3)
Panasonic (28)
Samsung (72)
Sony (38)

They began to get a vey poor reputation for their TVs - very much a case of 'you get what you pay for'.

However, last year I was given a Toshiba TV to review and have to say I was surprisingly impressed by the quality and value for money. Maybe they have got their act together and are going to go through a Skoda type of brand reinvigoration.
