With the new away kit being bright, and our Dutch revolution in full swing, what's the betting it's an all orange kit?

I love a round neck and button collar. We haven't heard anything about the home design. Just the away being a bright one this year.

Do we know when the kits are going to be launched yet?

No word from the club, but Friday 1st July would be a good bet, considering the boreham wood game is the week following.

That's also the day the transfer window opens and we unveil joey van den berg & gylfi returning home.

We usually see the kits first week of July? Then you usually wait a 3-4 weeks for their release.. Why we haven't decided to bring these announcements and sales forward I don't know. Surely the sooner you get the kits on sale, the sooner people start buying them for the good weather. We bring them out for the end of July, have 4 weeks of sun left, and the feel-good factor is gone. (weather, bad results etc)

And then they sell out with 8 leagues games still remaining and refuse to re-stock

Repulsive, so probably. SI wouldn't be surprised with Orange with how Dutch we're going, but have a feeling it might be yellow, to match the guts in this team.

Absolutely, it's bizarre from a sales and marketing perspective. A lot of clubs play their last game of the season before in the new kit to get it on display but not us.

I think a 'steward jacket yellow' away kit would be quite good though just to be controversial...

Yes it really is spectacularly kak that Reading's new shirt launch never happens before early July and then not available for purchase until (usually) the first game of the season

Presumably its because, in the grand scheme of things, we are not a big club with a shed load of fans waiting to buy. Of course if other clubs of our size manage to get things out a lot earlier then there are questions for the club's marketing team to answer

I think the majority of the time, they're embarrassed because the kits rarely look particularly good (especially the away ones) and are always made poorly and fit like a boxy, '80s Wall Street double-breasted blazer.

I'm a big advocate of using the early days as inspiration and mixing things up, but it seems that they want our kits to now be blue shorts/white socks, and for that to be our 'kit identity', for want of a better phrase (similar to Man Utd., Chelsea, Liverpool etc.)

In order to get a retro-inspired, unique design, in a well-made material, we need to get rid of Puma. And after over ten years I think it's time to do that.

Agreed. Puma need binning.

Leicester, Watford, Burnley, Wolves, Huddersfield, Rotherham, Barnsley even Swindon have released their puma kits.

All the above get them through Genesis sports so you can presume the delay in getting kits out year on year is on the club side of things.
