ZacNaloen Bet he loves his kid more.

And I bet he'll be seeing far more of his kid than RFC over the next year too...

Cypry
Royal Lady My point was, probably naively, that if you shake hands on a deal and pay the first half when required, surely you pay the second half when required too. If he's not yet paid because he's having trouble finding £12.5 million, then I think it's fair some of us might worry. And yes, my only concern is for this club, not to score points over anyone and I am still far from convinced that TSI are good for this club. I sincerely hope my beliefs change soon, however.

Yes, but to assume he's not paid because he can't find the money is exactly that, a massive assumption...

There are dozens of reasons why the deal might have been delayed...

Sure, and one of them, which would be cause for concern, is what RL is pointing out. It's just as much of an assumption that everything is rosy. Should it not be, then that is a concern. Hence the concern.

I guess on the one hand there seems to be a statement from SJM that everything is indeed fine.

And on the other a lot of if's joined together to make a concern.

Of course if all the if's worked out then there might be a problem, but personally I'll let SJM worry about that and he's apparantly not worried.

Sometimes in life you need to just use your worries on stuff that you can do something about.

To be fair, SJM would not want it to fall through, as he cannot afford to be the sugar daddy to RFC anymore

ZacNaloen
One8Seven1 Anton's lack of appearances is most likely down to his visa, isn't it? He can only spend so much time over here, and he's just become a father. I wouldn't read too much into that.

I would imagine it is something like this.

Anton doesn't really have a tax presence in the country anyway, TSI is in gibralter

He or 'the club' mentioned some time ago his visa only allows so many days per year in the country, so it's probably that. Who knows. What is everyone going to worry about when the remaining shares are bought? The price of tea?

Re: the last game Anton attended - Oman. But he's since become a father, and as mentioned, we already know he can't be here for every game due to his visa. I guess we'll know in the coming months if something is up, but I really don't think it's worth constantly trying to read into things and looking for conspiracies.

We know the delay was agreed and both parties claim to be happy with it. If it doesn't go through before the close of the year then I would certainly start asking questions, but until then you just have to ride with it. As long as the team aren't affected by it, and they shouldn't be, then that's all that matters for now.

The BBC have an article about the delay.

It uses the tired logic that because we signed out of contract players we haven't spent much.

Just saw this on BBC Sportsday feed...

2046:
FOOTBALL

The deal to complete the takeover of Reading Football Club has been delayed.

Russian tycoon Anton Zingarevich bought 51% of the club 16 months ago. He was due to buy the remaining 49% from previous owner Sir John Madejski by the end of September, but that deadline has now past.

The club stated that both parties are "comfortable extending the deadline to finish the deal" but could not specify whether they would set a new completion date.

What is the reason for the delay? Cash flow?

This is what I'm wondering. Tax reasons? Unfavourable exchange rates?

Someone said earlier using completely made up facts, that someone behind TSI finds it better for tax reasons to wait for the next quarter or something.

Which would be now...

We'll all know if there's a problem or not within a month or two. No point flapping when there's nothing definite to flap about.

BBC reports that the full take over has been delayed (again). Cause for concern?
