No Alcohol available at U21's

by royalrumble » 06 Sep 2013 08:44

WTF ? Strange, never seen that before at a stadium in any competition. Missed out on a fortune judging by the number of pXssed off people in Lower west last night.

I believe it's because the legal drinking age in Moldova is 21, so they decided against it.

It's the same at Wembley when England play competitive games - no alcohol. Friendly games are no problem.

Never been the biggest fan of UEFA but this is just ridiculous.

Yeh, they do that in Europa League games as well (and presumably Champ League). Ridic.

tbh why do people feel the need to go to football and drink weak lager before a game?

Do it in town beforehand, watch the game, do it again after....i'm sure most people can survive 2hrs without a pint

Isn't it all just a bit tedious without a drink?

Especially U21s for christs sake.

Yeah but you can't drink whilst the game is on anyway, so whats the point?!

Or just don't go if its tedious :?

I got busted taking a bottle of vodka into Brizzle City away season before last, so they didn't let me in.

What happens, do you have to forfeit the grog? Or just miss the match and head off to the nearest park?

I gave up the booze, thinking they'd let me in anyway, but they took it off me and stopped me from going in. So I just went and sat in the pub near the ground and watched the Champions League game.

Just wonder how that works legally.

Sure they can refuse right of admission but having done so surely they need to give you the booze back? They can't have it both ways.

Yeh, they were threatening to get me arrested for trying to smuggle booze into the ground, and I was quite tipsy by then, so I couldn't really be bothered to argue with them. You're right though, I should at least have got my vodka back.
