Pubs for Wembley

by Mr.Swainey » 20 Mar 2015 00:33

Never too early to start planning ahead for the most important arrangement of what is surely to be a momentous day; the pubs.

Didn't make the Green Man (?) last time around, ended up in the Allsop Arms instead, which was a good laugh - the highlight being some guy getting arrested for doing a bit of gear in the toilets, ending up dropping his ticket on the floor only for someone to pick it up and shout 'Officer, he'll be needing this later!'

Police allocate pubs, if you go online you can see what happened last year

I genuinely can't think of much worse things than a pub full of football fans so we'll be enjoying some London pints away from the "fun" and then Baker Street area before heading up to the match

Globe is overpriced (even for London), rubbish beer. Used to work the next street down from there.

Corrib rest in queens park a decent boozer as is the ship in kilburn, both easy to get to ground via tube if you want to avoid no mans land Wembley area. Some decent pubs near paddington basin and edgware rd too

Horrible pub, punching above its weight. Full of Swansea for the play-off final too.

Looks like the Green man will be an Arsenal pub this year given we are at the other end

Whilst I'm looking forward to arriving at Wembley "from a different angle" the Green Man was good - more or less en-route from Wembley Central, and they had bars of varying levels of permanance all over the place, no problem getting served at all.

We ended up just buying a crate of beer off them so we didn't have to queue up again.
