Thai Airways to sponsor us for the Arsenal game

by gdroyal » 17 Apr 2015 23:01

Interesting that they have decided to sponsor us for one game. Should be a good money earner just hope the money will go to the club and not to the owners.

Well, as a regular summer vacationer in Phuket I hope we announce the pre-season tour details soon ... and that there are discounted flights and hotels from Dubai. Thanking you! ขอบคุณมาก

Yep, had exactly the same thought about the t shirts, and a potential future sponsor. When does our Waitrose deal run out.

Correct. First female to be on the board of the company and has been since 2001.

Possibly a few £££ for this season to get us through FFP and give a legit boost in the coffers before season end and next transfer window?

Likelihood of a big deal for next season? Stadium? Shirt?

Could it have been perhaps an attempt to even out the perceived gap between little old Reading and the Emirates team.

You can get the Thai logo printed on your shirt for £5..... no, they won't pay you £5 for using the back of your shirt as an advertising space, you pay them

Personally, I hope we don't have a logo on the back of our shirts next season - It looks tacky/desperate.

LOL at anybody who pays to have the logo of a big company on the back of their shirt.

I do quite like the idea of the stadium becoming the Thai Stadium though. Could have ladyboys as cheerleaders, and pad noodles and jungle curry from the kiosks washed down with Chang (the beer, not the drug).

I hope we're not Thai'd down to their sponsorship.

I'd pay extra to have the sponsorship logs removed, although I don't mind Waitrose using my stomach to advertise their services.

I also make an exception for Waitrose

Even if it helps us massage the figures? Could finish with a happy ending.

Interesting to see the Thai Airways Logo around the ground yesterday if this was a one off Wembley Day Sponsorship...
This team needs investment, as Mick Gooding said yesterday "The Reading way has had it's Day", we can only hope.......

the problem, to a large extent, was that it worked for so long that we couldn't really adjust when it started failing.

Regardless, I don't want to see us become another club splashing cash we haven't got "chasing the dream", only to see us in administration in a few years.

The problems we are in now are, to a large extent, due to overspending during Anton's time in charge.

Agreed and its about getting the balance right. We went from too far one way to too far the other. Fascinating to see what happens next.
Going to be interesting Summer.

Thai Airways logo in the South stand and also noticed Carabao energy drink logo in the North stand...Hopefully a sign of things to come over the summer, although I wonder how many of these sponsors are merely the companies owned or connected with the consortium and the money coming in from such 'deals' won't mean a massive jackpot to strengthen the team...
