Home kit short colour vote

by Brum Royal » 08 Jul 2015 15:44

Loads of people saying they prefer either white or blue shorts on the new home kit thread

Let's see what the majority think.

It's blue for me. White looks too much like QPR.

Just as a one off, one year I'd like navy shorts

^ couldn't agree more. The kit being worn is wholly irrelevant, as long as it's not embarrassing and the determination is there when playing it doesn't matter whether what the design or colour of the shirt, short and socks is.

I do agree on that, it's just that reading through the new kit thread over the last few days (and most years tbf) there are always comments about "would look great with blue/white shorts", so I was just curious to see if there was a majority, which judging by the votes so far it's pretty much a 50/50 split.

White shorts / socks help us fans identify players who have not give it their all - they're the ones with a spotless kit.

Maybe but you can be a quality player and never get dirty, how much dirt do players like Ronaldo and Bale get on that white Madrid kit?

White stockings and knickerbockers. The kit is the first sign of identity for a club. Can't believe anyone would think the kit is irrelevant :|

I'm not saying the kit is irrelevant, just the shirt is the main identifier for the club. Most people outside of hobnob probably wouldn't notice what colour shorts/socks we're in.

+1 to don't care... depends on the shirt design innit. Don't want too much or too little of either colour

Exactly this.

Blue shorts for me though, don't mind on the socks as long as it goes well with what's above it.

I prefer white over blue, but either way, IMO the club needs to pick one and stick to it. You don't see a Liverpool, Villa or a West Brom chop and change their home strip like we do. As Handbags says, your home strip matters, it's your clubs identity, it means something! Liverpool wouldn't swap to white shorts and white socks just for a change, they'd be an outrage. Our fans just tut and carry on.
