I did a google. micro brewery just across the road, a Harvester right outside the stadium, I would imagine that would be packed, and a couple of pub about 10 minute walk along the Neath road.

Theres a Social Club across the road. Landore or something similar. We went in there for a small fee. Cheap food and ale as well

Maneki Neko excellent stuff
what else have you done on your trip?

Hi...We have been using the Madhouse Hotel as our base since touring the English West Country. Taking in the Plymouth game. Bit disappointed with the 2-0 loss against Charlton, but hay what the hell we are still over the moon to be in England and following the Royals!!
Due to the International break, we have been sight seeing Reading, Caversham by the Thames and trips into London. Saw the England v Bulgaria game at Wembley.
Moving up to N. Yorks moors on Thursday to see the Royals Middlesborough game, after which we shall be staying in Windermere, Lake District sight seeing..and drinking more English ale!!
Then we move to Wales to see the Swansea game. Back to the MadHouse Hotel for the Fulham game. Then our vacation is over...

Many thanks for the kind words.....UUURRRRSSSS!!!

Sounds great.

But does the Mad House hotel have much rhythm and pulse to it during the week?

We chose Reading as our base. Being avid Royals supporters (can't say we are fan's because distance does not allow for that. We feel there is a difference between a fan and a supporter...sorry for being controversial...Perhaps the subject might be posted!) After spending days out sight seeing, we were not much interested in "pulse and rhythm"
Anyways, we are now touring N. Yorkshire and Lake district in readiness for the Middlesborough game...

Do you ever long for the days of cash on the turnstiles, OMA?

Simpler times.

I yearn for the good old days on the South Bank. Paying at the turnstiles with coins, the smell of grease from the food vans and the stench of piss from the toilets. Football just isn't the same these days.
