If true, this is really serious sh*t! (OK, I know, 'No sh*t Sherlock'!)

And if U21s aren't being paid it is surely breach of contract, which could enable the best ones to jump ship with no money coming the club's way in return?

And a report you can actually read in full is here….

https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/conce ... e-emerges/

Worrying but currently seems to be nothing more than a glitch possibly similar to Wigan’s problems earlier this season.

Guess we should wait to see if everything is resolved by end of tomorrow.

Don’t think that’ll happen just because, presuming the current story is true, monies are a week late. Really not good just before Xmas either. Be interesting to find exactly what the issue is/was and just how it arose without anyone knowing until too late.

Good news for us relegation backers (have just topped up 9/1).

Problems in China perhaps? Maybe the tenants aren't paying their rent. Share price of Renhe Commercial Holdings Company Limited is down over 60% since March. Funding a football club has become an expensive hobby.

Now’s the time to sell, all the Saudis and Yanks over here looking to buy the ‘pool and United, they can’t all be successful and they can probably afford Reading out of the looose change they find down the back of their settee.

Not paying a penny to the U21's is bang out of order, they're on a low wage as it is. The senior squad getting 80% now and the rest next week isn't too much of an issue I wouldn't imagine as long as it was well communicated and explained to those affected..... I suspect it was not, probably only found out when they saw their bank statements.

The real cause for concern here is how close we are to the breadline, If one sponsor goes bust and can no longer pay their way then that's going to have an impact..... Maybe that's it, maybe the sponsor deals are paid in installments after every x number of games and someone in finance forgot there's a World Cup break this month.

Not exactly something you want to be reading really and is obviously a bit of a concern for a club that has had issues with our financial situation before as well. Let's just hope it all gets cleared up this week and it is some delay in payment due to unforeseen circumstances and that this strictly becomes a one off. The confidence in the board has been improving slightly over the summer, but still a long way from where it needs to be, and this isn't exactly going to help matters.

In business non-payment on time can so often be the first sign of there being problems however it is dressed up.
Hopefully this is not one of those signs especially as our big hope is that our owners will be spending zillions on new players once this season ends.

Agree they should have done more for the U21s but I also wouldn't trivialise the seniors - if you got 80% of your pay would you also consider it no big deal?

Not a great look with the January transfer window just around the corner. Even assuming we can afford to sign anyone and are then allowed to by The EFL, how many players with more than one offer on the table are going to be interested in joining a club that doesn't pay wages on time,

Obvs not great not paying the u21 but realistically most are about 19 years old. Doubt they’ll have mortgages and families to support like the senior players

Currently Reading cannot sign anyone in January unless one of the 25 squad players recognised by the FL leaves first.

About 24 hours since the news broke and still no coverage in the Reading local press.

BBC Berks were as useless as ever being much more concerned about the World Cup and the women’s next game this AM.

You’d think all of them would at least carry/acknowledge the same story while they have someone banging on MB’s door for comments.

Yes only almost 24 hours after the story breaking

Anyway, still want to know why, Wigan were citing “issues with foreign banks” when they had problems earlier. One wonders though, what exactly has changed within the existing system between October wages being paid and November.

Mind you with the people of China now at last beginning to demonstrate against all the cr@p being foisted on them by the CCP one wonders how “safe” Reading may be long term.

Apparently being reported by James Earnshaw of the Chronicle that everyone at the club has now been paid according to the link below.

https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/signi ... ages-saga/

Still would like to know what the issue was and whether it could happen again.
