It finally looks like the council have got permission to get going on the Junction 11 improvements. Should make getting to the stadium easier.

You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs.....

What alternative is there? J11 can't cope as it is.

I know, I work right next to it and can see it out of the window here.

Having just moved away from Wycombe and the hell that is the Handy Cross roadworks I now have the prospect of these.

I know it needs doing i'm just not looking forward to the traffic chaos.

They've disposed of the makeshift roundabout now, and added lights, not only that, about 200 yards down, at the three mile cross juncture, they'd opened it up for them to come over, so another set of lights, so much for saving the planet.

Has is, as predicted, made 3MX all the worse to cross now?

bit hard to tell at the moment, as not all lanes open and now summer holidays, hence lighter traffic.

Does anyone know when the project will be fully finished? I thought it should have been complete by Spring/Summer 2010?

Well, i've been enduring it, for what seems like 5 years, it WAS due to be finished by June 2010, this has now passed and so will July in a few days, i'm guessing that it will be fully completed by about October/November, but who knows, it changes every day.

September was the last updated finish date they gave but I can't see that happening.

Just looked at the Wokingham site and they say they are on schedule and the final finish date is late August but the final road system will be in place at the end of July. In fact I noticed today they blacktop on the western bridge so that may well come into use this week.

August for the road to be complete and September 2020 to finally get the traffic light phasing sorted out.

Noticed that the sliproad off the M4 Eastbound had been freshly resurfaced overnight and it looks like you will be able to filter straight around to the left if you want to head towards the Mad Stad avoiding the carnage currently at the top of the sliproad...still seems to be way too many traffic lights though which inevitably the phasing will never be correct..

The council has a real problem with traffic lights. None more so than down the A33. What was the need to replace the roundabout by PC World with Traffic Lights? What was the need to place traffic lights by Kennet Island?

The official story is that when you have lights you can adjust the phasing of them to make traffic flow quicker - i.e. change the priorty at different times of day to suit traffic conditions.
