The P.A.Announcer

by Victor Meldrew » 24 Sep 2006 21:36

I suppose some people are desperate for a pizza at half-time but does he really have to spend most of the 15 minutes shouting at the decibell rate where you can actually see peoples earwax shooting out?
If you don't want to go to the concourse or the toilets you might just want to have a chat to your mates and neighbours about the first-half but it's impossible with him sceaming his head off about f*****g pizzas.

By all means let's have a gee-up before the game although last year's goals and the music are themselves a great build-up (any chance of a few Premiership goals as well?) and in my mind have just as good an effect as the "Back the boys" stuff.
Sometimes I yearn for Elm Park and a P.A system that doesn't work.
Maybe when I'm really old I'll be deaf enough not to worry.

I have to leave when all that pizza nonsense goes on.

No wonder we're perceived as plastic.

If they're going to have about 5 or 6 pizza staff there each game then why don't they just take orders from those wanting pizza and deliver them at half time?

It would be far better if Fosters (or Stella) did the same sort of promotion imo. :D

I have to say that the Domino's pizza (delivered to those who really deserved it on Saturday) was very good.

Much as that would improve the standard of food by 100%, it would also reduce the revenue that we generate for our transfer kitty.

Hate the fella. Is'nt it Graham Beddow who does it ? - one of the biggest local radio c*cks that Reading has had the misfortune to put up with for far more years than I can care to remember?

I was told that Row W Y24 got the Pizzas. That's my row! We were outside, but when I came back in no-one had any pizza - they must have polished it off before we got back, the greedy barstewards, and then hid the boxes it came in!
