If only economics was that simple !!!

It is that simple .... or am i being thick ?

I think the concept that after 2 years everything was profit was the thing that raised my eyebrows.
And that you've assumed that for 2 years the money from selling the seat simply goes to pay for the cost of constructng the seat.

I don't think either of those 2 are right !

If the seat isnt in place then RFC will recieve £0.00 for it .... if they put one in then they will recieve £1000.00 (roughly) over 2 years.
If they put that money to oneside to offset the building costs then it will have paid for the seat.
Every year after that the money goes into the "running RFC" fund with the rest of the money from the other seats

I know its a simplistic way of looking at it but at the end of the day thats what it boils down to

One obvious flaw in that is you have no way of 'running RFC' during the 2 years when you have devoted the entire proceeds to paying (retrospectivly ) for building the seat. OK, I know there are plenty of other revenue streams, but if we are looking at this simply....

If that plastic seat cost £1000 then I'll eat my hat.

you better start eating your hat then

while the actual seat itself is not £1000 it does cost roughly £1000 to put each seat in a stadium

No hat-eating I'm afraid. The plastic seat did not cost £1k.

Dirk Gently in fact then the number of people who applied and didn't actually get a ST was in single figures - a reasonably large number were sold to new people with no points at all.

No they weren't. My girlfriend applied with 87 points and was told that the cut-off mark was set at 100 points... therefore meaning she was denied a season ticket.

Did she actually apply, because certainly once they got to the end of the applications they had ST seats left which they sold to people with zero points.

Yes, sent in her application form, and got a phone call to say she didn't have enough points.

I'm perfectly happy to accept that concrete, nuts and bolts, installer, crane operator and foreman for a few minutes PLUS a plastic seat costs about a grand - I would never accept that a plastic seat alone costs a grand. I wouldn't be a very good QS if I did.

The Club have announced selling details for a limited number of new season tickets.

Around 15,500 seats have been taken by existing holders, leaving 1,500 available on a Royalty Points basis.

Sales will begin at 10am on Monday 2nd July, in person and by telephone.

The available seats are scattered across Madejski Stadium, and there are only a very small number of seats available next to each other. No personal viewings of available seats within the bowl will be possible.

Please be patient if telephoning or visiting in person as the transaction takes longer than a usual match ticket purchase, so queues may be longer.

Selling details are as follows:

Monday 2nd July - 301 points or more
Tuesday 3rd July - 281 points or more
Wednesday 4th July - 261 points or more
Thursday 5th July - 241 points or more
Friday 6th July - 221 points or more
Saturday 7th July - 201 points or more
Monday 9th July - 181 points or more
Tuesday 10th July - 161 points or more
Wednesday 11th July - 141 points or more
Thursday 12th July - 121 points or more
Friday 13th July - 101 points or more
Saturday 14th July - 81 points or more
Monday 15th July - 61 points or more
Tuesday 16th July - 41 points or more
Wednesday 17th July - 21 points or more
Thursday 18th July - 5 points or more

The Madejski Stadium Sales Centre is open from 10am to 6pm on weekdays, and 9am to 12pm on Saturdays.

Lower West, East and North Stand
Adult £565
65 and over £400
17-21 £400
13-16 £285
12 and under £175

Upper West Stand
Adult £595
65 and over £420
17-21 £420

Didn't we have 18000 season ticket holders? If so , doesn't that leave 1000 people missing somewhere?
