I just remembered that jumbo grasshopper that landed on James Rodriguez in 2014. This tournament needs one of those moments to really set it off

Pretty much what I came on to post.

Won’t bother now.

The foul on Sterling would definitely have been a VAR penalty in the PL.

Buck stops with Southgate - he is picking the wrong players. Foden hadn’t been great but he was far far better than the utterly hopeless Sterling who takes up some great positions and then tries to run through defenders only to get dispossessed almost every bloody time.

It’s such a shame that our “great” young players rarely improve. Sterling and Rashford are getting worse with every year that passes.

I’ll cling on to the hope that we haven’t peaked too early and things.... can only get betterrrr.

How is VAR not checking that foul?
Who is deciding? Is it someone at the game or elsewhere?

And it was clearly a VAR pen. Not a proper old school pen but these days it's a pen.

And I am fed up of commentators who just say something that aligns with the ref's decision. No point being there if you do that, Peter Walton

Imagine, England v Scotland decided by dodgy VAR decision….. personally agree it was a “VAR penalty” and should therefore have been awarded given the current flow of stupid “VAR penalties” that we’ve had this season. But without VAR the ref is left to make his own decision and rightly said “no”.

I'm liking this 'clear and obvious' interpretation from UEFA's VAR.

No long looks, not overturning the ref on the slightest of infringements

can't be arsed to use my VPN to watch english stream so just watching ESPN and it's simply dreadful. You would have think 20+ years of this they would have improved but it's still awful. Not as bad as 2006 WC. :?

There’s been a terrible lack of Vuvuzelas if you ask me.

Loved those things.

I have one of those at home. Purchased outside the stadium at the QF of WC2010 (Spain Vs Paraguay)

Yep. Only looking if it looks 'obviously' wrong. Not looking at anything and everything that was maybe a close call to see if they can find an 'obvious' error from 4 angles in super slow motion.

My Dad died nearly 40 years ago but one of his regular phrases came to mind today - “never write off the Germans”.

Robin Gosens. Good player. Rare breed of German international in that he has never played in Germany.

Born on the Dutch border and turned pro in the Eredivise before moving to Atalanta.
