Sutekh 1000 penalties! 0 out of 3 on the night

Please God, Switzerland to beat Portugal.

Probably won't now happen seeing as the manager has fallen out with old tart-features pose-boy and benched him.

On the other hand I would quite enjoy them putting in a great performance to show they are better off without the objectionable cnut in their team.

1000 passes from Spain resulted in one shot on target, no goals.

Football really has moved on from tiki-taka, eh

Mr Angry Watching Brazil is painful.....not for the football, but the over the top adulation from the commentators; last night, a South Korean knocked a 50 yard crossfield ball to his winger, in space, who took it down beautifully; no comment whatsoever from McCoist.

5 mins later, a similar ball from a Brazilian had McCoist in raptures and verbally ejaculating into the microphone.

Did you hear Jenas the other night eulogising over all the England players and then Lee Dixon doing the same in Sunday's game.
What gets me (if we are talking about personal annoyances) is when a top player does something simple and commentators go way OTT.
Kane's square ball the other night to a totally unmarked player for example.

I have taken to turning the volume down but not always off as the crowd noise is something I like to hear.

Clearly (probably) I exaggerated my irritation for effect, but any team (incl England) who perform rehearsed routines after scoring a goal deserve to be chucked out of the tournament. (There I go again. :D ).

The cockiness I referred to was not really re the celebrations, just how they caught up in their own (and tbf, most of the world media's) hype, believing the Brazil "thing" makes them special. It doesn't - only performances do that, and theirs have been disappointing for the last 20 years.

Other countries don't have that hype in the same way - sure, English media will always build our chances up at some point, but I really don't think the players believe any of that these days - in part because we've won nothing for 50+ years, and also because of Southgate's very good man management which ensures everyone's feet are kept firmly on the ground.

So England are out already because of the rehearsed Grealish celebration in the very first game - or is that one OK because a young lad asked him to do it ?

Jesus wept.

Is that because he is out of the tournament?

Thought this game would be good for bookings with Xhaka and Fernandes opposing in midfield but this ref is one of those who doesn't book many so will wait until Spain play Portugal........................................oh.

Messi has certainly proved he's as good at beating Australian farmers at international level as he was at beating Spanish farmers from Getafe at club level.

Now ITV are eulogising over a second coming, thought Pele must have suddenly taken to the pitch for a moment.

All very silly.

It's Tyldesley though, Ramos will miscontrol an easy ball in a few minutes and he'll slag him off for being useless.

BBC obsession with Messi v Ronaldo is almost hitting cringe levels. How many updates during a live game do we need about Ronaldo? Messi plays an average game against Australian farmers and gets heralded as the next Pele. When Ronaldo was his age, he scored a hattrick against Spain. Lol so weird
