Alexi Lalas is absolute trash. I cringe almost every time he speaks and when he interrupted/tried to correct Michael oxf*rd Ballack I was in shock. He hasnt gotten better over the years just more confident and arrogant in his ignorance

Tydlesley now trying to convince us that Spain are hanging onto second place by just the 12 goal difference between them and Costa Rica. Yet he wonders why ITV have binned him off as their main commentator.

That’s irrelevant now… they’re currently going home whether 12 goals or not.

Edit… were going home

I was having a mare there, was thinking Costa Rica were winning not drawing and so thought they couldn't get any more points. Sorry Clive.

Jermaine Defoe is a fairly regular pundit on Match of the Day, not sure if he is covering the World Cup. He is excellent and I prefer him to Jermaine Jenas. As for Lee Dixon and Chris Sutton I actually find them offensive. During the FA Cup run Dixon in his punditry was obsessed with "if he is a foreign manager does he really understand the magic of the FA Cup" to which one is tempted to respond piss off you old bigot.

Why is Roy Keane anywhere near an England game..he’s Irish as we all know….nothing to do with the likes of him….ITV paid him up years ago…now just trying to reclaim some VFM?

There’s some department store grottos that could use his wisdom (and beard) this time of year

Had to suffer ITV tonight.

Coverage topped off by Lee Dixon confidently stating there are no easy games at the WC as every side is full of internationals.

I mean, he's not wrong, but...

Top news that ITV have the France game too :|

Tbf, Matterface and Dixon were just about bearable last night and the David Seaman cat emoji quip made me lol out loud.

1-0 to Korea in the second half

ITV fawning and expecting Brazils 7-1 drubbings to be avenged came to nothing.

To be fair to her, she's realised that she can't so is asking for help - that takes a strong person

Have the BBC just rolled over with giving all the good games away, certainly England ones. Very odd.

Not sure their gamble that we'll get through to the semis will pay off.

ITV’s “record” with games in the Euros is almost as horrendous as the World Cup, however they did get a little respite in 2021 so just maybe there’s a small amount of hope.

I don't normally care for pundits and commentators but whoever was doing comms on the Spain(?) game said something like 'he struck it really well' when immediately showing a replay of a Spanish player miss a penalty
