Sutekh Isn't our very own Barry Hunter head scout up there these days?

At the moment, yes.

Sanguine
No Fixed Abode Looks like O'Driscoll and McAllister are leaving their positions at Liverpool. Bizarre going ons when you consider this was a Fenway Group appointment.

They got rid of Rodgers hand picked backroom staff and brought these two in.

Not that bizarre that a new manager will work with his trusted coaches. FSG's intention at the start of the season was not to be sacking Rodgers.

It's still strange to get rid of Rodgers hand pick backroom staff - undermine him and bring in others.

So another £21m spent by Liverpool to bring Klopp in. Rodgers gets nearly £10m in a pay off.

They've got to win a trophy now, haven't they?

I think we can all agree that Klopp will be expected to win trophies.

Solid presser from Jurgen the German, calls himself the normal one and says "it doesn't matter what people think of me on my first day, it's what they think of me on my last day"

.....which, unfortunately, will be under a cloud following his sacking in 12 months times. Car crash of an appointment.

It's actually impossible not to like Klopp.

taken from discussion on the Guardian website.

Tall, affable, good looking, nice smile, clearly down to earth and has a sense of humour together with quite German efficiency.

I feel like I'd to have a beer with him... but I'd probably just end up giggling like a schoolgirl every time he said something.

Zammo, a car crash? How so? Seems exactly what Liverpool have been missing - a man whose teams play a football of real identity, who values substance over style, and is pragmatic enough to work in different ways and fit in to Liverpool Football Club.

Yeah, he looks the part……if he was the frontman of Rammstein. Couldn’t agree more that his larger than life personality is enthralling, but with these type of characters it’s brilliant when your winning…..massive cracks appear when you’re not. The media love-in will soon turn if he’s not up to scratch (Kop – Klopp – Flop). I’m totally in the ‘would be great to see Liverpool challenging again camp’….I just cannot agree on an appointment that is likely to hog the limelight more than the club/players. Is that really what Liverpool need right now?

I don't agree with your assessment of Klopp at all but there is obviously no point in arguing, better to just wait and see if you're right. My questions is, however, who would have been a better choice, in your opinion?

Brosef Stalin called some people up on their predictions the other day. How about betting posting rights on this sort of thing. I challenge Zammo, we agree two days of not-being-allowed-to-post and in 12 months, we come back and see where we are.

What's the downside? Some of the mouth breathers would never post again and the politics thread would be me and Schards skipping merrily in sun-drenched uplands.
