Hoop Blah
Sanguine Sol Campbell the new Macclesfield boss. Hopefully (for them) his views on lower league football have changed - he allegedly spent most of his time at Portsmouth complaining that the facilities weren't like at Arsenal, and of course as a player walked out of Notts County after one match.

One good starting point for Campbell is that is surely can't get any worse - Macclesfield only recently won for the first time in 37 games, although they've won again since, just five games later. Now 'only' 7 points from safety.

Well that's a bit of a shock. I didn't think anyone would ever give him a chance to be honest.

Perhaps he was the only applicant.

Good to see the BAME quota being pushed up.

It's not a quota. Grow up.

This stat is ridiculous - it only relates to their League 2 form, as in between their last campaign and this, they won the league in the division below. It's not that outrageous for a team to do badly and be relegated, then come back up and struggle.

Anyway, good luck Sol Campbell - hopefully he can follow in Paul Ince's footsteps and make successful career starting at Macclesfield.

I don't think it's that ridiculous. To fail to win for 37 games at a particular level is an astounding achievement.

I give you Hyde FC conference 2014, almost went a whole season without winning, Probably the worst team in modern british football history in top 5 leagues

24 Hyde (R) 46 1 7 38 38 119 −81 10

Hyde did that in one season. Macclesfield did it across 3 seasons. It’s not a statistic.

In other news Matthew Bates of Hartlepool goes. Will they ever get it right?!

AFC Wimbledon apparently offered Wally Downes the manager’s job......on the condition he deleted his Twitter account. Wally has had some interesting views on many subjects on there.......Anyway, account was duly deleted, but the expected announcement never came.....seems some of Wally’s ‘choice’ tweets were seen by a wider audience than his 1,000ish followers....

Suspect AFC may be a bit concerned about their brand being linked to Wal’s extreme dislike of the social changes in London over the last few decades.......

Sounds more EDL /BNP than UKIP.

Can't say I'm surprised either.

KPOGF, but that is UKIP under their current leader. Farage may be a lying sack of shit but he'd never have let Yaxley-Lennon join his party.
