So I'm guessing that his excuse is that he thought he was offside?

Must be time soon for Ballotelli to solve bullying at school/give away money to charity/some other PR stunt to repair his public image.

Depending on which website you choose to read, there is speculation that there was a whistle from the crowd and that was how the man madder than a box of frogs reacted. Then again, it is only a psf. Why get worked up about it? Fair play to him for trying something like that. Football should be fun

Whilst i agree, for a fan friendlies dont mean much but Mancini hits the nail on the head when he says

"In football you always need to be professional, always serious and in this moment he wasn't professional. He needs to understand his behaviour has to be good in every game – not just in a final or a semi-final but every game."

Balotelli gets pilloried but Henry and Pires get away with their attempt at a Cruyff penalty. Hmmm - smacks of double standards to me. Or how about Pele in the 1970 world cup dummying the keeperyet rolling the shot wide?

I am sure Henry and Pires were bollocked for what they did........thing is, those players would have learnt from the cock-up. Balotelli will continue to do odd things like this unless someone says/does something drastic to bring him back down to earth he's a loose canon and Mancini needs to keep him in line before he fcuks his career up

I seem to recall Pires and Henry getting pilloried by the media (but not Wenger who made up his usual bollocks). So double standards from whom?

I can't argure with you there. What I like about Balotelli is his unpredictablility. In an age where football appears to be robbed of any sort of flair or individuality, certainly in English football, I think he is a breath of fresh air. Football needs its heroes and villains. I just dont know where Balotelli would sit

Balotelli may be a mental, but it was a friendly. If football clubs want their players to treat matches more seriously they shouldn't have them play in so many meaningless friendlies. Balotelli gave his opponents and the match all the respect they deserved.
