Very true.

I'm sure the "Cut and Paste" police are filing charges as we speak.

The defence of Begovic, Huth, Shawcross, Woodgate, Wilson is taking a 4-0 battering to a team with Bendtner and Titus Bramble in.

BBC FAIL

So they say the score was 3-1, but there were 5 goals, and the score was actually 2-2

I don't think putting Martin Skrtel at right-back up against Gareth Bale was Dalglish's finest moment. With Kelly and Johnson injured, presumably Flanagan was too, or has Kenny lost faith in him?

Carroll on the left wing when Adam was sent off was ridiculous.

Yes I know, but Bale was the fulcrum for much of Spurs' early possession and attacking - having a recognised right-back there (or even Kuyt who has a bit of pace) would have been better than sticking a chunky centre-back up against one of the quickest players in the league. The red card was apparently well backed at the bookies pre-match.

Reading the LFC forums, it seems Flanagan may have some 'issues' - he hasn't featured in the squad since 'suffering a loss of confidence during the second half of the opening game with Sunderland'.

And as good as Spurs were, it is, of course, easy to outplay a team in all areas when they have less players on the field, as Liverpool did for 62 minutes.

point taken...but it shows (perhaps) the widening gap between the historical prowess and the "now" when liverpool go to the lane hoping not to get beaten.

Any laws of the game types who can explain why United didn't get a penalty for the foul on Hernandez for which Cole was booked?

My only thought was that the ball was dead - but I didn't think that made a difference. When Gillespie elbowed Stephen Hunt with the ball out of play, we got free-kick, right?

If a foul is committed in the penalty area, then a penalty is to be awarded.

A player can only be booked for foul play apart from ungentlemanly conduct.

Basically, Dowd screwed up; that should have been a penalty (as should Robinson's foul on Walcott yesterday) and seeing the replay, Cole should have got a straight red for a pretty shocking challenge.

Man City need more players?!

LOL.

These guys don't live in the real world any more, do they?

De Jong, Barry and Hargreaves injured, does not equal 'we need more players', it equals find a way to get by until they are fit.

I'm certain that the majority of Andy Johnson's penalties for 'Palace were awarded after he'd booted the ball out of play and waited for resulting contact. In most cases he was never going to get to the ball after his touch, and most were already out of play, but he played the system.

Surely this is no different?

20 sheets. Three teams will have to go down. QPR will be one of them.

How you feeling gr8 m8

TBF I would have thought the same before you splashed the cash.

Fair play - I don't think you'll have much problems with staying up with the likes of SWP, Barton (if he can keep his big gay mouth shut) and your back line - Warnock seems to have them working as a unit remarkably quickly.

Was just thinking when watching MOTD that with the new players they've brought in they'll be fine. As much of a scummer who shouldn't be in football Barton is, he's a good player to have in a team to allow for Taraabt as a luxury player. Add in SWP and an entirely new back 4, if I heard right, and they should be fine.

Still think Norwich wil scrape through, gonna stick with Swansea going down though.

Is it 5th and 6th for a Europa League spot this season? Wondering if I can get some good odds on Newcastle sneaking 6th place, been very impressed with them thus far, solid defence, Cabaye looks a terrific buy and Ben Arfa coming back - might still depend on whether they can find a striker in the next window. Leon Best has certainly stepped up so far, mind you.
