Forest

Is the club being run that badly?

Players leaving, no one coming in.
A Chairman who is desperate to sell.
Managers coming and going.

After 28 games last season they were 2nd to QPR with a game in hand on 52 points.
This season after the same amout of games they are 2nd bottom.
A goal difference which has turned from +16 to minus 24.

Still a crowd of 23,000 turned up last night to witness another Nottingham Forest Nil performance.

The clubs that occupied the bottom three positions at this stage last year were ultimately relegated from the championship.

Looking very gloomy indeed for them.

Agreed Red, but this is some demise.

All things looked rosey under Billy Davies until they were knocked out in the play off semi final and he got the bullet.

Since then the Wally with the brolly has had a brief go and now Cotterill who seems to be totally lost.

The day it all started going wrong for them was losing 4-3 at home - they've never been the same since.

Yes.

Shame - I really like Forest and would like to see them back in the top tier tbh.

I think sacking Billy Davies, odious cretin of a man that he is, was the catalyst for disaster. Davies would have gained promotion for Forest, I am certain of that. Appointing Steve McLaren as his successor was at the time a questionable move, a move which went from bad to worse. Then they appoint the dullard Cotterill who has only ever attained mid-table Championship positioning with half decent squads. A lacklustre, low-on-confidence Forest squad was never going to be his cup of tea.

That and the fact that Forest's fans are on their clubs back at the first hint of something not going how they want it to...

Many will talk of a good run at some stage of the season giving clubs a great chance of promotion.

Forest have given themselves a great chance of relegation.

Since Nov 26th (inc cup)

Played 13
Won 1
Drawn 2
Lost 10
Goals scored 4 (3 of them in one game). Failed to score in 11 out of the last 13 games!
Goals conceded 21

And we thought that we needed a creative midfielder.

Not even Robin Hood could get them out of this one.

I couldn't be happier about this...too many Forest fans near me with HUGE chips on their shoulder about how they SHOULD be Prem...yadda yadda.....Several of them weren't even born during the 'Glory Days'....the only one who was says that their time has passed and the Forest fans should just get over it.

Add Derby to that.

But Forest and Derby have always traditionally been 2nd tier teams. It's only down to the management of 1 man over a relatively short period that both clubs expect more. They need to remember where they really come from.

You are where you deserve to be. Too many fans out there suffering from massive club syndrome.

Wasn't it the Wolves board that up until a few years ago had a counter showing how many days it has been since they were 'back where they should be'

This is what can happen when clubs part with managers doing a good job. Getting exactly what they deserve for getting shot of Billy Davies. If the same happens to Leeds it will serve them right.
