Half way promotion prospects 2013-14

by Royal Ginger » 09 Jan 2014 11:07

Very poor quality division this year that has seen the likes of Watford, and Blackpool flirt with the top before dropping off horribly, and teams like Derby and Ipswich getting a second wind. Who's your favorites to go up?

Pick 3

I would LOVE it if QPR missed out - would make my season (unless Reading got promoted).

I've not (stupidly) lost faith that Reading can't still do it.

Derby, Leicester and Forest. A very uninspiring group.

Derby
QPR
Ipswich

Little Jay Tabb smiling down on us from the Premiership. I recon Ipswich are in with a shout based almost purely on heart and grit. To be where they are with that team shows the kind of togetherness our squad had two years ago. If David McGoldrick keeps his form up I recon they could sneak in through the playoffs.

I'm liking McLaren's Derby, I think they'll come second to Leicester.

This indeed. Living in the Midlands, if this happens and Chesterfield get into League One then I'm not going into work beyond April.

Things will change a lot before the end of the season. Was torn between Boro and Brighton.

Just watched Leicester vs Derby.

Leicester are amazing (at least they were tonight - first time I seen them). 20 odd shots, 8 on target. Derby had 0 on target, the goal for them was an own goal.

Their passing is amazing. 4-1 up and they still sprint for every single ball. Very entertaining to watch.

Definitely going to win the league.

(was at head office in Leicester yesterday enjoying the football banter)

The common theme was that Leicester fans are actually quite nervous...yes they are doing well...however.

10 of their key players, plus their managers, contracts are up at the end of the season.

Great if they get promoted...a clear out and replenishment with mega stars and mega money etc etc ...but

If they miss promotion, they are in the financial do do

Once again

and no team to build a challenge on

Big Foot Leicester, Burnley & Derby are my picks.

Mine too, although QPR will push them close and may well pip one of them to it.
