Hoop Blah
Snowball Just as an example, if HRK (or anyone) tracks a runner so the ball doesn't go to that runner, he "did nothing" ...

Wasn't Harper very good at always filling the space to prevent the crucial pass? Valueless?

Well this is slightly ironic....

Wasn't it HRK who nobbled Mertesacker with a tackle in the centre circle? Major contribution as Gabriel was rubbish when he came on

I acknowledged that and gave him a +1

If he pressed like Harper, I'd agree with you. He doesn't. He's half-hearted and goes through the motions. Doesn't force errors, or harass the opposition into doing something they don't want to.

It's ironic that you're pointing out that someone's statistical assessment of a player is missing out large parts of what happens in a game that isn't recorded by his stats.

...and rather desperate that the defence of HRK is now reduced to how hard he works off the ball. Is this why he's in the team? No wonder we're struggling to create chances.

Anyone praising HRK's performance on Saturday is being overly sentimental about the ocassion. He did not play well.

IMHO HRK has in the past shown the most potential on the right wing, However he wasn't/isn't up to the same standard as other right wingers/players who can play there who were/are in the squad - Kebe, McCleary, Mackie.

I'm also annoyed he took the number 9 shirt, Whether he stays or goes next season I hope it is reassigned to a striker.

First minute of today's game he couldn't be arsed to go for a through ball, admittedly probably only a 30/70 chance but it set the tone for a woeful performance yet again. Rarely have I seen a player flatter to deceive so often and make a career out of 1 good game in every 5 or 6.
Please just oxf*rd off.

Is Clarke forced to play HRK?

by LWJ » 25 Apr 2015 19:19

Hal's brother is also his agent, he's oxf*rd massive, does Clarke feel threatened by him to play HRK?

Basically, the alternative is to play Nick Blackman.

He was absolutely hopeless today and the sooner he moves on for his benefit as much as the team the better.

Actually it was cruel playing him up front on his own as he was so out of his depth

I detest having to watch him play for my club and take home £1m per year. He's an utterly appalling footballer and I desperately hope somebody can be fooled into buying him.

As I said in another thread it was a cruel joke to put him up front today. He's not even a decent winger let alone allowing to play upfront in his own. Clarke must be either desperate or inept

I assume you mean 1 good game I'm every 5 or 6 years?

Surely the question must be "What is the point of Steve Clarke?" ?

Really?

Worse record than Adkins in most facets and has signed Knight, Yakubu and Appiah.

He's got a lot to do to prove himself to me.

SC appears to be giving everyone an opportunity to impress (or otherwise). While trying out various formations. New season. Expect changes and fewer formations.

Expect a new manager as well.

Why would he need to prove himself to you more than the fans who actually attend games and support the club?

Maybe it would help if he liked Azerbaijani prog.
