A first round pearler... Swindon 1-3 Eastleigh

Solihull Moors giving it a right good go against Yeovil at the moment too.

...and squeak past the Glovers on pens - now rewarded with a trip to .... Luton.

R5 live emphasised the result from the County Ground tonight was NOT a shock result .....

Funny, but true. They basically have a L1 budget & I was reliably told they had at least one player (Ben Strevens) on 2k a week in Conf South.

Eastleigh are possibly second only to Forest Green Rovers in terms of how they are positioning themselves as regards budget and experience. Be interesting to see what happens there if they fail to at least reach the play offs.

Swindon are a very young squad who are building for the future. Believe their aim this season is simply to avoid relegation, anything else is a bonus.

For the record though, their exit last night was the 5th consecutive season they're left the competition in the first round

Mrs DDs uncle is a coach at Forest Green first team and most are on 2k+ a week. I think all comferance teams bar 2 are full time now anyway.

Few great games..extra time Dover and Cambridge last night was brilliant! 4 goals in 30 mins.

Some great ties this weekend.

Curzon Ashton Wimbledon wascherry on the top ... genuinely felt sorry for the lad who'd scored the hat-trick.

CuROFLzon Ashton

You don't blow a 3-0 lead with 9 minutes to go, even if you are a non-league side.

Did anything remotely interesting happen in this weekend's action? Millwall beating Bournemouth or Plymouth getting a 0-0 at Anfield are pretty much the only stories that seem worth looking at

Indeed, their 3rd round crowds are on the up.

5,199 v Fulham 2016-17
4,782 v Shrewsbury 2015-16
4,194 v Colchester 2014-15

BR0B0T did Liverpool field their reserve team?

Apparently the youngest team they have ever fielded - average age of 21 and a bit. And that was boosted by 29 yo Lucas playing. Still a poor result mind.
