Cathkin Park, home of Third Lanark until the club folded in 1967. A capacity of 50,000 and originally built for Queen's Park and known as Second Hampden. Wonderful pavilion next to the main stand.

Still not as many as at Elm Park when Friday scored his wonder goal if you add up everyone who says they were there

The totally bizarre County Ground, Northamption. It was shared by the football club and the county cricket club until 1994. I saw Reading play here in 1976 and stood behind a boundary rope on the touchline. A weird experience.

Discovered this only today. West Ham keeper Lawrie Leslie makes a save during a training session in 1962. Image obviously used for Reading programme covers from the early 1970s.

Is that Martin O'Neill at the front?

Yep, and Ian Bowyer far right. Both went on to win European Cup winners' medals. Player in between them is ex-Reading loanee Barry Butlin.

The Valley?

Not entirely certain. I was just doing an Internet search for photos of football being played during conflict and that one came up.

Would think it would be a London club though based on the size of the ground and the necessity to have the home guard on plane patrol.
