Interesting goings on at AC Monza

Promoted from the 4th Division 3 years ago, Silvio Berlusconi then bought them and appointed Adriano Galliani as CEO. They then won the 3rd division last year and they have just signed Mario Balotelli. Kevin Prince-Boateng also there.

Currently in 9th place in Serie B (Serie B play offs are nuts and can go down to 8th place)

I'm sure they won't be looked into based on any financial irregularities :?

Rumours tonight that Téléfoot Chaine, the TV channel that broadcasts Ligue 1 games in a €2.8B deal, is on the verge of collapse. It only started up 5 months ago too.

The general suggestion is that if its true then many French football clubs would be pretty f*cked

Dortmund 1-5 Stuttgart

Pressure on Dortmund to sack Favre and get someone else in quickly.

Mid December and top of the 'big 5' leagues are:

Tottenham
Real Sociedad
AC Milan
Leverkusen
Lille

Deportivo La Coruna faltering a little in the Spanish 3rd division after a strong start

Its usually 4 regional leagues but this season its 10 leagues of 10 teams each before that turns into play offs.

Good to see. Although the biggies are lurking - in second at the time were Liverpool (now top), Atletico (Real third), Inter (Juve in third), Bayern and PSG.

Would be quite something if that’s how it finished up. The year of the underdog.

The usual big four are queued up behind Milan in Serie A, and Bayern are in touching distance in Germany. Liverpool now top. I reckon Atletico might pinch La Liga this season, but of those I reckon only Lille stand a real chance of an upset, PSG look fragile.

Atletico look very good for La Liga.

Was listening to something the other day and they were raving about Joao Felix saying that after a year of getting used to it there, he now really looks very good indeed

As disappointing as he was last season, the writing him off, at 20 years old, is sadly typical of a lot of football media and commentary these days. And for some reason he got a lot more heat than Thomas Lemar, who finally this season got his first assist for Atletico in his 31st appearance, before netting his first goal in his 44th.

If there's any justice in the world Lemar will get his comeuppance.
