... didn't manage MW Preview - all went a bit quiet on here - thought you'd all forsaken me  but notable local 'highlights':

RTFC beaten again @ Scours 0-2 by Slimbridge and sit rock bottom with no points and fifteen conceded in four not including the six they shipped in the FA Cup - ground now 'closed' for the duration of the Festival.
Binfield lose 1-2 vs Marlow
Ascot's pick up first league win with a 1-0 win over Highmoor/IBIS
Wokkers thumped 1-4 at Larges Lane by Wantage
Holyport still thriving 3-0 win v Shrivenham
Newbury put in performance of the week thrashing Ab Town 9-1 {NINE} with a Ray Spence hat-trick.
Thatcham go down 4-5 @ Uxbridge - another ex-RTFC Danny Seaward also hatrick for the Kingfishers
Hartley Wintney finally win a game 3-2 vs Ash
Guernsey impressive in a 3-0 win @ Cove
... elswhere league wins for Burnham, Farnborough & Staines
BUT defeats for Magpies at Bath & Sluff at home to new boys Guildford.
MW draws for Basingstoke, Beaconfield & Hungerford.

... and tomorrow starts a busy BH w/e in Non League (actually there are a few FA Cup games being played tonight)

Aylesbury for me and if the results go the right way, Windsor will play Didcot Town in the 1st Qualifying Round. Sadle, whatever happens, this will be my last Windsor away game for some considerable time. My last game of the season will be next Saturday v Croydon at Stag Meadow

How can a game be abandoned after 88 minutes? That is just plain bizarre.

Great win and performance from Windsor yesterday. 2-0 flattered the hosts who were restricted to long range efforts in the main. Aylesbury match report can be found here if you scroll down far enough http://www.aylesburyfootballclub.co.uk/matchconsole.asp?matchid=1ST20120825FAC&tab=report. Fair assessment if you ask me. Next up in the Cup is Windsor resident Dave Mudge and his Didcot team. Real shame that I will miss the handshake pitchside between the two managers.

As for my return? I have absolutely no idea when I will be back as it all depends on how the job goes and how we settle in.

Pretty sure i was at a midweek cup game that was possibly the most dull game i've ever seen when the floodlights went off at 87 mins. I cannot remember if result stood or not. I was beyond giving a shit!

Yesterday's round-up:

Fri 24th August

98 Staines Lammas 0-2 Barton Rovers
102 Romford 1-4 Waltham Forest
149 GE Hamble 0-1 Totton & Eling
152 Sholing 4-0 East Cowes Victoria Athletic
156 Wootton Bassett Town 1-0 Hamworthy United
144 Christchurch 2-1 Alresford Town

Sat 25th August

FA CUP Preliminary Round - apologies for any omissions/errors below - the official FA site occasionally manages to post the wrong Cup scores in early rounds 8)
73 Grays Athletic 1-0 Takeley
74 Tilbury 5-1 Brantham Athletic
77 Harlow Town 1-2 Hadleigh United
82 Whitton United 0-3 Aveley

89 Biggleswade United 0-1 Ware
90 Ashford Town (Middx) 2-2 Tring Athletic
91 AFC Kempston Rovers 2-0 Cockfosters
- ended up here - well we had'nt been before  don't usually go as far as the United Counties League grounds. Is a fairly new-build-style ground on the outskirts of Bedford: so journey there and back was a complete b&*^%rd - M25 totally ph£cked nr M40 both ways - clockwise: caused by a 3-4 car shunt must've happened just ahead of us about 13:30 no mention on Traffic reports. Two lanes closed etc - bit nasty - they were still cutting passenger out of car having taken the roof off. Spent 3/4 hr doing 2 miles so missed the first 15' of match - but obviously hope no-one was too badly hurt - easy to forget such repurcussions when you are intent on hurtling to watch 22 blokes boot a ball and each other about. :|
Fairly forgettable game won't rush back - home side eased past spirited lower level visitors and are rewarded by a visit from the 'Beavers' (Hampton & R) in the next Round on 8th Sept.

92 London Lions 3-1 Oxhey Jets
93 Berkhamsted 3-1 Hadley

Warfield Royal Ascot United v Binfield is postponed

ooops sorry WR - missed that one - understandable - since it wasn't actually on the list of replays that I was trying to work from.

Good luck to the Yellamen up above Cheltenham on Wed eve - try not to let 'em get a 2 goal lead this time eh? - be good to get through and host your neighbours 'The Robins' in the next round?

...also I've had only intermittent t'internet access - cos young 'uns been on WoW this PM. :?

Today's Cup Scores by the way -

Uxbridge 2-2 Wembley
Badshot Lea 2-1 Egham
Epson & E 2-1 Three Bridges
Highworth 1-0 Shortwood

... so two more STEP05 clubs beat oppos from STEP04 - and 'Venables Vets' live to fight again - crowd at Uxbridge this PM was 754 and Wembley were 2 up at HT.

Apologies, saw FOC results post and it was a draw. Abandoned call makes sense but I am sure away team prefer a replay!

FA Challenge Cup rules state any match abandoned before completion of 90 minutes... shall be played on the same ground...

Shrivenham 6-2 Reading Town - was at this one - my God were RTFC bad! Really looked like Men vs Boys for much of the game and Shrivy are definitely NOT the strongest side they'll meet this season - felt a bit sorry for Stan B and the rest of the Town dignitaries sat in front of the Bar; especially since I'd told Mr B that Shrivy would not be as 'robust' an opponent as Slimbridge, who'd coasted to a 2-0 win at Scours in the week :? . Spirited effort late on but the game was long gone by then. Torrential rain too....
Slimbridge 1-1 Newbury

You beat me to it in summing up what happened at the Camrose.

Sending off and teams down to 10 men (town used their subs) totally threw Basingstoke and lost a two goal lead in two mins! Some punishment that for a sending off, looked nasty.

Abandoned Bishops Cleeve v Ascot United, FA Cup Prelim was due to be played tonight but was postponed due to waterlogged pitch.

Try again next Tuesday

Possible replay next Thursday

Possible 1st Qualifying Ascot United v Bracknell Town on Friday 7/9

This is really messing up the fixture list.

..yeah shame that .... but when I went to Bps Cleeve a long while back, it seemed to have a (very damp) micro climate up in they hills. :?

Trust it got called off this PM before anyone had set out from Ascot - I only noticed it myself around 18:00 ish this eve when browsing NEXT weeks midweek games and saw the Cup Tie had appeared.

Elsewhere - tonight - the Wembley 'Ol' Vets' dream was snuffed out by Uxbridge who eased through 5-0 @ Vale farm - wonder who ESPN will feature in future rounds now?

Leatherhead avoided a shock beating CCLP Horley 3-0

I toddled over to Wantage 3-1 Highworth - fairly low key win for the 'Freds - HIghworth looked very limited and may have still been coming down from their Cup win on Sunday.

Didcot FC Mudge Resigns At Didcot
Dave Mudge has resigned as First Team manager at Evo-Stik League Southern South & West Division Didcot Town.
Citing personal reasons for his decision, Mudge had been Didcot manager for almost a year after taking over from Francis Vines a few weeks into the 2011-12 season. He managed to steer Didcot away from the relegation zone, the club eventually finishing in 16th place, but his most notable achievement with the Railwaymen was taking them to the First Round proper of the FA Trophy. It was the furthest the club has ever gone in the competition and included memorable victories at Worthing and a 3-1 win at Conference South Bromley along the way.
Explaining his reasons for departure Mudge said: "Firstly I want to thank Didcot Town FC for the opportunity of being First Team manager since September 2011. But it is with great sadness that today I have reached a decision to resign from the post with immediate effect. The main reason is the impact it is having on my business. The journey from my home to training is a 110 mile round trip and that also has become a factor as is the time I'm away from my family. I have given a lot of thought to this in the last few days and is not a knee-jerk or rash decision. I hope everyone respects my reasons to leave and again I thank the club and everyone connected with it for the great time I've had. I wish Didcot Town a successful season and hope they go from strength to strength."
Didcot Town Chairman John Bailey: "I'd like to thank Dave for his efforts while at the football club; he came to us at a difficult time last season when we were rock bottom of the league. He turned things round with passion and in a hugely positive way and we are extremely grateful for his hard work and dedication over the past year. We wish him well in the future."
An interim management team of ex-Fulham, Swindon Town and Wimbledon star Gary Elkins alongside Richard Peirson and Ian Concannon have been asked to cover first team affairs while the club considers its' options for the remainder of the campaign.
