Four Of Clubs very busy B/H coming up, with a double set of games for most 'local' clubs ... including the 'big homecoming' for Sluff on Monday - think I might leave it a while before I pop along to Arbour Park - they are actually building the place in phases - large stand not due for completion until early next year 8) - reportedly £8.5 million total investment - multi-sports community facility incl Rugby.

Monday's opening game is all ticket, so indeed it might be best to wait (especially as there is no parking available apart from season ticket holders). The large stand scheduled for completion Spring 2017. Biggest concerns for most seem to be parking, and availability of beer on the opening day :lol: So far, over 1,000 tickets sold so might well sell out...

Where actually is Arbour Park?

Anyone see the Salford City program on BBC 1 last night? Interesting watching and a Reading link as, apparently, Gareth Seddon (now with Ramsbottom United (since June 2016)) was on trial with Reading for a while when he started out on his career in 2001.

Where actually is Arbour Park?

Up Stoke Road from Slough station, about 15 mins walk, adjacent to St. Joseph's. Much better for locals than 7 miles away on the edge of Beaconsfield...

North Greenford United v Windsor - NGU finally relegated back from SL1Central, having flirted with relegation for most of their 6 years @ STEP04 - never finishing higher than 18th. Not started too well in the league, with 1 win and 2 defeat but have picked up two impressive FA Cup wins vs Binfield and last w/e 4-1 @ home to Kidlington.
Their Berkley Avenue ground is N up the A4127 Greenford Rd from the A40 Western Avenue. It is almost overshadowed by the big London-based Gaelic Football facility 'Tir Chonaill Gaels' - the FC clubhouse is almost an apology ,alongside the far larger venue and the ground is tucked away in one corner of the others Car Park. Can be busy when the 'Hibernian Shennanigans' are in full flow out on the big Pitches.

Walton & Hersham v Guildford City
CCL1
AC London v Cobham

HELLP
Binfield v Tuffley Rovers

Carterton PP Lydney Town - looking grim for the home side - have already cried off from B/H Mondays' fixture at Thatcham - seemingly struggling to find an XI - looks terminal :(
Flackwell Heath v Highworth Town
Henley Town v Burnham - some thought that another heavy reverse here for Blues, might see their season being brought to a premature close too!
Longlevens AFC v Ascot United
Oxford City Nomads v Highmoor-Ibis
Royal Wootton Bassett v Brackley Town Saints
Thatcham Town v Bracknell Town - word is prolific Hellenic marksman TJ Bohane has uprooted after a brief stay at RWBT where the money is said to have run out ... and followed the cash to Bracknell
HELL1E
Bicester Town v AFC Aldermaston
Chinnor v Chalfont Wasps
Headington Amateurs v Didcot Town Res' @ Horspath
Penn & Tylers Green v Rayners Lane
Sandhurst Town v Wokingham & Emmbrook

Shrivenham v Hook Norton

WESSP
Bashley v Andover Town
WESS1
Alton v Laverstock & Ford
Andover New Street v United Services Portsmouth
Baffins Milton Rovers v Fleet Spurs
Romsey Town v Tadley Calleva

...was originally heading up to Redditch v Kings Langley in the Southern Prem but the tie has been switched as Redditch's new 3G pitch won't be ready for another couple of weeks.
As it's B/H w/e, I've foolishly agreed to my mate's preference of game - gave him the likely list and in an almost Pavlovian response :roll: he plumped instantly for Ryman games in Suffolk or f£ckin' Essex!
Could spend a long time on the M25 again tomorrow :| - think we'll be heading for Bury/Sudbury or possibly further round if possible and due east out to Maldon/Bowers & Pitsea.

Hmm, I hadn't noticed NGU's FA Cup wins tbh. That suggests they are going to be decent opposition.

No telling about Windsor atm as we don't know who is available to play until we get there.

In my role as local pundit in the Observer I have gone for a 4-2 win for Windsor.... If 2 or 3 hoped for starters aren't there, it could well be the other way around.

Anyway FOC, surely today of all days is the one to stay as local as possible if you can....? M25 on a Bank Holiday getaway day is not my idea of fun....

Has Virginia Waters FC ground share at Stag Meadow been announced anywhere? Must of missed it. Playing there today. Somehow i doubt they are paying the silly money Slough paid...

Speaking of Slough be interesting to see if they can keep the crowds once novelty fades. Have no idea of the area so if they keep 1000+ would it be interesting to see if locals kick off!!

...RR and I had a sort of 'maybe/possibly' type exchange on here about six weeks ago (mid July) on this very thread but from what info was available then, it appeared the 'rumour' of a groundshare at Windsor may have gone away.
- the new Surrey Elites League's website is a total mess to be fair - they've ditched both Mitoo & FullTime for this season and gone for some other fiddly looking platform on http://www.seifl.co.uk

I also got involved in a subsequent discussion about them and the Surrey Elite League itself over on the NLM forum but got too entangled in my own anorak :D and forgot to confirm the arrangement on here after I'd learned it was definite - soz.

VW's own website would be a better bet for up to date info - the SEIL one does have some pretty detailed Bulletins somewhere on it but it's not the easiest of sites to navigate and I can't find the latest document this AM - I'm sure it's there - just developed a 'perception filter' on me! :mrgreen:

VW lost their first league game 0-1 at Stag Meadow last Saturday to Spelly Reserves and play host to Merrow (suburb of Guildford) this PM. The visitors usually play at the Urnfield way up on the hills to the SE of the Town - but they themselves have been groundsharing at Weston Green nr Thames Ditton not far from Hampton Ct - cos of the 'flannelled oafs' still needing to gallop about all over their 'sod'! :lol:

... so probably understandable why the league site is a bit awry - there are a few other clubs in this league similarly hampered by Cricket taking over their pitches in Aug - the front fixture page on there still has today's match taking place at The Timbers!

Finally a bit like other worrying news of potential early season 'folds' in the Hellenic and elsewhere down at STEP07 and below; the SEIL will run one short with 15 clubs. (no Crikkit pun intended) Project Clapham are no more, having played only one game - citing 'lack of interest' !
Cannot find this reflected on the league site yet, just a cryptic 'FF' status against last w/e's fixture - some interesting associations should you look up that acronym on the web! (scuse ignorance but expect it means 'Surrender' or 'Force Forfeit' as in gaming terms .... as opposed to 'Fast Food', 'Friends Forever' or 'Frou Frou' or maybe it's a more literary reference meaning 'no final number' ?)

North Greenford Utd 2-2 Windsor

Battling point for both teams. Overall NGU probably were more dominant although Windsor were a little profligate in front of goal with some gilt-edged opportunities being squandered.

Yet again a load of changes for Windsor - 2 new faces and forced to play our centre forward in central defence. I assume more injuries, family events and holidays are to blame but it would be nice to see a settled team.

It really would.

hmmmm ... both FullTime and NGU's site have this finishing 1-1. (NGU report here) as does 'Windsor Steve' over on F'Focus

http://www.northgreenfordunitedfc.co.uk ... 624430tion

...other than the finer points :mrgreen: relating to goal quantities; it backs up your review above. What leapt out at me though was you've now got former Burnham ace Trey Mitford leading your line - I'd have thought he could be a great acquisition if you can use him properly?
... is he on dual registration from Staines or exclusively yours?

~~~~~~
...anywhose here's the correct (hopefully) scores from around the other local NL clubs .... 8)
NAT
Aldershot Town 2-0 North Ferriby United
York City 4-1 Woking
NATN
Brackley Town 1-0 FC United Of Manchester
NATS
Bath City 2-1 East Thurrock Utd
Chelmsford City 2-0 Oxford City
Concord Rangers 0-1 Maidenhead United –Pritchard 63’
Dartford 2-0 Hungerford Town two late goals sink Crusaders
Eastbourne Borough 0-0 Ebbsfleet United
Gosport Borough 0-1 Bishop's Stortford
Margate 3-1 Weston-Super-Mare
St Albans City 3-1 Whitehawk
Truro City 1-1 Welling United
Wealdstone 2-4 Hampton & Richmond Borough
- Magpies stay clear at the top but a lot of shifting places just behind them – Beavers now up to 2nd following their big win at Wealdstone with STAlebuns , Poole & Bath making up the top 5. Hungerford’s successive defeats see them drop to 9th.
SOUTHP
Chesham United 1-1 Weymouth
Cinderford Town 2-3 Basingstoke Town
Cirencester Town 1-3 Slough Town 2 for James other for Putnam - Rebels nicely placed in 2nd spot ahead of their big homecoming tomorrow
Hayes & Yeading United 0-1 Dunstable Town
Hitchin Town 3-1 Banbury United
St Ives PP Merthyr Martyrs Coach broke down en route.
SOUTH1C
AFC Dunstable 2-2 Kidlington
SOUTH1S&W
Didcot Town 0-0 Larkhall Athletic
Paulton Rovers 0-3 North Leigh
Salisbury 2-1 Mangotsfield United
Slimbridge 2-2 Wantage Town - not all bad for the Freds as they grab another point - sadly though, they were 2 up on 17' but the Swans had levelled by the 1/2 hr mark. Diddy are the visitors to Manor Rd tomorrow.
Winchester City 0-4 Tiverton Town - something not quite right at the Denplan as Tivvy ran riot 2nd half with 4 unanswered goals.
ISTHP
Staines Town 0-2 Kingstonian
CCLP
Abbey Rangers 0-2 Bedfont Sports
Badshot Lea 0-3 Westfield
Bedfont & Feltham 0-2 Raynes Park vale
Camberley Town 1-2 Chertsey Town maybe something drastic to tip the balance this much, would not have expected the Curfews to get anything here but maybe both clubs have changed pre-season. Having read a report does seem Cambo were a tad profligate in front of goal and did all but score in the closing stages - missed a pen too so only themselves to blame - nice to see Chertsey starting better this term though.
Farnham Town 2-2 Spelthorne Sports
Horley Town 2-1 Hanworth Villa
Knaphill 2-1 AFC Hayes
North Greenford United 1-1 Windsor
Sutton Common Rovers 2-8 {EIGHT} Hartley Wintney
Walton & Hersham 1-0 Guildford City
Dorking 1-5 Ash United
Epsom Athletic 0-2 Staines Lammas
Frimley Green 1-1 Chessington & Hook United
Sheerwater 3-2 Farleigh Rovers
South Park Reserves 0-2 Eversley & California
HELLP
Binfield 1-2 Tuffley Rovers -slightly surprising reverse for the Moles at Stubbs Lane but Tuffley are evidently much improved on the side reprieved from relegation last season. Three sides together at the top on 12 points now – these two and winners of the match below B&T – who lead on GD. Binfield have a played game more.
Brimscombe & Thrupp 4-2 Ardley United
Flackwell Heath 1-2 Highworth Town – Worthians upset the league form here with a shock win at Magpie Lane
Henley Town 4-2 Burnham first win and points in their sixth game for the Red Kites against fellow strugglers who sit bottom and pointless. They welcome Flackwell to the Triangle for an evening match tomorrow B/H Monday.
Longlevens AFC 4-0 Ascot Unitedpoor result for Yellamen having beaten close neighbours and then leaders Binfield in midweek
Oxford City Nomads 1-1 Highmoor-Ibis H/I’s perfect record ended with points shared – don’t have a game tomorrow
Royal Wootton Bassett 3-0 Brackley Town Saints welcome points for Bassett who’ve had a torrid last week or so – with rumours of wholesale departures.
Thatcham Town 1-4 Bracknell Town 2 goals for newly arrived marksman Bohane and 2 for Cornell – 'Robins' take a short flutter over to Racecourse tomorrow, for the big derby vs Ascot. Kingfishers reportedly 2nd best all over the pitch but had a lot of new faces in their XI. They have Monday off as Carterton attempt to rebuild a squad.
HELL1E
Bicester Town 3-2 AFC Aldermaston
Chinnor 1-1 Chalfont Wasps
Headington Amateurs {EIGHT} 8-1 Didcot Town Res
Penn & Tylers Green 1-1 Rayners Lane
Sandhurst Town 1-1 Wokingham & Emmbrook
Wantage Town Res' 1-4 Finchampstead
HELL1W
Abingdon United 5-1 Woodstock Town
Letcombe 2-2 Clanfield 85'
Shrivenham 0-2 Hook Norton
- Game listed as Abandoned at Nor Lye(Res v NC Swindon) but home twitter suggests they didn’t even try starting the game – similar tale up in Banbury at Easington also listed as Abandoned –was a fairly narrow band of poor weather that evidently concentrated it’s fire on County Ground to start with but oddly spared a few other NL venues in the area?
WESSP
Bashley 2-1 Andover Town
WESS1
Alton 0-9 {NINE} Laverstock & Ford
Andover New Street 0-2 United Services Portsmouth
Baffins Milton Rovers {SEVEN} 7-1 Fleet Spurs Spurs turned up with a less than bare 10 including a few almost certainly only on the fringes of the squad or used in extremis – so not such a surprising margin – was their 2nd 7-1 defeat in succession too.
- haven’t established the stories behind the huge scores at Alton above and Hamble club who rattled in FOURTEEN against E.Cowes
– the former is certainly an eye-opener – probably the 'Brewers' biggest defeat in years and on their plastic too? Only snippet of info I’ve untwittered is that that the Alton LB suffered a bad injury.
- no B/H Mon games in this league, other than the IoW derby between Newport & Cowes Sports in the Premier –Full program on Tuesday evening as Spurs host Tadley and Whitchurch go to Andover.
Romsey Town 0-2 Tadley Calleva - Tadley neatly tucked in behind the leaders and unbeaten
... did make our intended destination - saw Bury Town 1-1 Gt Wakering - tight match of limited chances - I reckon I've only got a dozen or so more grounds to do over in this region,before my mate has had his fill of Suffolk/Essex. Think we got lucky with the BH traffic too - most of the problems were on the opposite carriageway. Had to start the journey by avoiding a reportedly jammed solid M4 East.
- signs going up yesterday announcing lane/junction closure commencing beyond jn 25 of the Orbital, suggest we'd need to forget trying that route from mid- September anyway. As it turned out also lucky I didn't suggest we head anti-clockwise to a Kent/Sussex match what with the grief over on the M20. :lol:
Yeah, 1-1. Marbles gradually leaking out. Make the most of me. 8)
I believe Mitford is dual registration, as is / was Keanu Williams.
Rumour going around that Williams has now, after last week pledging himself to Windsor for the rest of the season, been signed by Villarreal B Team.
I find that bloody hard to believe, I mean, Staines to Windsor, then, after about 110 minutes of football off to Villarreal... I mean, come on!
If he has gone I'll be bloody gutted as the most exciting player we've seen at Stag Meadow for a while could have made us real challengers this season.
Rother the sooner you accept that, especially early season, the current set up at Windsor won't be settled whatsoever the less hair pulling you'll have to do!
Does seem as this is the confirmation of Virginia Water ground sharing http://www.virginiawaterfc.co.uk/#!1st- ... 2016/b3u1r
Slough return home today. One of my first non league games was at their old ground in Slough which wasn't far away from the current one. Will be interesting to see if they can get decent crowds look term in a town with a 'fluid' population it'll be interesting to see if they can attract eastern European fans and create something a little unique.
I have no hair left to pull.
6,4,3,2,6
Number of changes to the starting line up this season.
As for Slough, they have sold 1,200 tickets for the 1st game, currently sit 2nd, have another stand to be installed in a few months, so if they can get a good result today could really start a roll.
3rd taxpayer funded ground since the 70s.... Good luck to them.
(Not that Windsor haven't done anything at the taxpayers expense of course! :?
Slough Town 2-1 Hayes & Yeading. Good game, even almost graced by a member of the 106 team (although Harper didn't make it out of the dugout). H&Y looked to spoil the party and took an early lead but Slough came back well to take the points and stay 2nd. Just reward for the many volunteers who toil at this level of football (and below) and for those at Slough who have made it happen. Credit to the council as well for building a great facility for the club and local schools to share. Hopefully some of the 1,401 people there today will return.
It's great to have the club in the place where it should be. Not Wexham (South Bucks). Not Windsor. Not SYCOB. Slough.
Petersfield Town 0-2 Marlow - Blues up to third in a division notable for having no outright ‘big-hitters’ present - unless you count Farnborough who may be ‘in recovery’ but still have a fair number of financial demons close at hand – could make for an interesting season.
Uxbridge 3-0 Hanwell Town
SOUTH1S&W
AFC Totton 0-4 Salisbury
Hereford 4-0 Bishops Cleeve att 3102 – 2 more for ex-Diddyman Mills and one for Haysham as Hereford maintain their 100% record
North Leigh 2-1 Swindon Supermarine – Nor Lye sit 4th just above Salisbury on GD
Wantage Town 2-2 Didcot Town every point vital for the Freds as they battle on – Diddy probably upset not to overcome their near neighbours.
Wimborne Town 2-2 Winchester City in the context of the table not a bad result for City but they are nowhere near the heights of last term yet – losing Bentley to Gosport probably a key difference?
CCLP
AFC Hayes 3-0 North Greenford United
Bedfont Sports 4-1 Bedfont & Feltham
Chertsey Town 1-0 Abbey Rangers
Epsom & Ewell 3-0 Horley Town
Guildford City 2-0 Badshot Lea
Hanworth Villa 0-1 CB Hounslow United
Hartley Wintney 2-1 Camberley Town
– my first game of the day – big turnout too – no official figure given yet but they used the overflow car park (practice Pitch) and I counted c 170 odd early 1st half.
– ‘Cambo’ grabbed a lead in the first minute but HW eased past them with some powerful performances – odd to see Camberley outmuscled. They were still determined to get something which made for a good contest. HW just too sharp up front and too clever at set-pieces. Ex-Krooner KP Bradshaw, who switched between the clubs in the summer, marshalled his own back line well. Somewhat diminutive home CB Noakes scored both goals – one scrambled in on the line the other from a soaring header at a free-kick.
Spelthorne Sports 2-0 Knaphill
Westfield 3-1 Farnham Town
Windsor 1-1 Walton & Hersham – Windsor now 4th Westfield hop over them and still have a 100% as well as games in hand
– Bedfont Sports are 2nd behind leaders HW– Camberley slipped to their third defeat.
Cup involvement and groundshare complexities is giving the table a bit of a staggered look with some teams still only playing 3 matches to others 7.
{Tue} Raynes Park Vale 2-2 Colliers Wood Utd
CCL1
Ash United 0-5 Bagshot
Banstead Athletic 3-3 AC London
{Tue} Chessington & Hook United 1-0 Epsom Athletic
Cobham 3-1 Dorking
Eversley & California 0-3 Frimley Green
Staines Lammas 1-2 Sheerwater
Worcester Park 2-4 Redhill
HELLP
Ascot United 1-3 Bracknell Town - another for Bohane as Bracknell seem to have found another gear and blew away another rival with some ease. A big crowd at the Racecourse on B/H Mon of 201. Playing only one of Whitty/Davies at CB at the same time seems to have stiffened their defence too.
Brackley Town Saints 2-2 Ardley United
Brimscombe & Thrupp 0-0 Tuffley Rovers
Burnham 0-4 Binfield
was at this; ‘Moles made heavy weather 1st half but once they scored very early after the break (I was still making my way back from the bar!) it was plain sailing against a spirited but very poor Blues. Luther B is in charge of team affairs, until they can find a permanent replacement for Tuttle. I was a bit miffed they weren’t doing any hot food – hard times? On a day where I decided to stay off Motorways where practical - naturally the one bit I chose to try and dash along was &^%$ing stationary between 10 & 8/9 :evil: :evil: :evil: - arrived at 15:10 - fortunately still goal-less
Highworth Town 3-3 Royal Wootton Bassett
Longlevens AFC 0-1 Lydney Town
Thame United {EIGHT} 8-1 Oxford City Nomads – Thame closing in on Binfield at the top and still unbeaten with games in hand.
(Evening) Henley Town 2-2 Flackwell Heath
- Got to this one – my third of the day and by far the most thrilling - official site still shows 4-2 to 'Red Kites' :? – it was definitely a draw. FH on top for nearly all the game but Henley were hard to break open and actually grabbed a surprise 2 goal lead early 2nd half much to the Heathens discomfort. So much so, that they lost their discipline and then a man around the hour mark, to a petulant Red card. Even with 10 men they still had the upper hand and bravely switched their full backs to attacking wide men with virtually 2 at the back. Right-back crashed in the deserved equaliser fairly late on. (Full Time site only has 4 goals registered but the goal times are completely adrift – somebody had thumb trouble texting the result in!)
HELL1E
AFC Aldermaston 6-0 Wantage Town Res
Bicester Town 2-3 Headington Amateurs
Chalfont Wasps 2-1 Rayners Lane
Chinnor 1-2 Woodley United
Didcot Town Res 1-3 Sandhurst Town
Holyport 3-1 Wokingham & Emmbrook - Sumas described by fellow ‘anorak’ who was at this game as 'woeful'
Penn & Tylers Green 3-0 Finchampstead
HELL1W
Abingdon United 3-2 Milton United
Ciren Town ‘Dev’ {TEN} 10-1 Cheltenham Saracens
Fairford Town {SEVEN} 7-0 Letcombe
Woodstock Town 1-4 Shrivenham
Tuesday evening
WESSP
Andover Town 1-1 Whitchurch United - att 136
WESS1
Hythe & Dibden 0-1 Alton
Fleet Spurs 4-3 Tadley Calleva
Folland Sports 0-7 Hamble Club - ‘el Hamblico’ :D :P
– though about this, seriously … even set off in time to get there. Of course the M4 had it’s say and I sat attempting to traverse jn11 for about 20’, before giving up :evil: and trundling the shorter distance down to Kennels Lane, for Spurs v Tadley. Still had to negotiate two road closures/diversions there and back (Arborfield Rd beyond Hollow Lane and then the A33 by-pass on return – came back that way to avoid the other diversion. :roll: )
– in the end a good choice as it was a terrific contest with Spurs clawing back an unlikely win from 1-3 in arrears quite late on. Two comedy ricochet goals for them too. Tadley ought to have won by a mile.
As it's the international break, tomorrow is non league day. I don't know what kind of special promotions some of our local non league clubs in Reading are doing to attract fans through the gate when there is no Championship / Premiership football taking place, but at my local non league club Wealdstone FC you can get in for a fiver.
If you are local to the Ruislip area of West London then why not come down and watch the Stones in action. They have had a good start to the season and are backed by a vociferous home crowd.
Tomorrow it's Wealdstone Vs Poole Town and it's a fiver to get in.
Did you go TF/
A decent result for Poole ( 2-2),who have only just been promoted to this level and are doing quite well with much the same squad.
Windsor 2-0 RPV
Not much of a spectacle with very little quality on show. Still, 3 points and a clean sheet is perfectly acceptable I suppose.
Another new face up front who did bugger all.
