AthleticoSpizz Thanks FoC

But that is just a small part of MP’s career ‘progression’.......he sure still gets around a bit...and yet, scores shed loads...why drop him

....indeed just a couple of mins surfing- throws up Fleet Town, Basingstoke, Thatcham, Bracknell - thou I'm not sure he ever turned out for them and possibly Aylesbury Utd.

Four Of Clubs I also think they have Adam Cornell in their front line too - recently moved over from Bracknell links up with other recent ex-Robin and Rebel winger Joe Grant.

And centre half Joe Gator too.

Take a look at the following vid on Twitter showing Sandhurst through with only the Epsom keeper rushing out !!
The keeper got a yellow, apparently the ball wasn't going to stay in play !!

Thatcham Town lose their (only) second fixture of the season v Brizzul Manor Farm (yet still remain top)

No dramas but, BMFs winner came from their goalkeeper...a shank down the pitch that trickled over the line following some defensive confusion and lethargy.

AthleticoSpizz Thatcham Town lose their (only) second fixture of the season v Brizzul Manor Farm (yet still remain top)

.

Sorry quick bit of Pendantry here

.... sure that we've lost count before but Thatcham have now lost three league games - all at home - Slimbridge, Melksham ...... and BMF.

I think their abandoned game at Frome, when they were two down (?) also threw the figures out somewhere along the line.

That and the fractured accuracy of the official Southern League site; which occasionally throws up false results - apparently they've been at it again this week according to NLM.
e.g. They are listing Bideford v Slimbridge as 1-1 but showing four home scorers and none away - Bideford won 4-1.
They have the score at Aylesbury Utd wrong too was 3-1 not 4-1 though at least they got the result right if not the score.

....bit late with the the Review for this w/e ... soz - no games on tomorrow round ere and nowt on the box so I'll try and put it together for Monday night and hope to get the scores correct. 8)

Highlights: Good win for Maidenhead at sinking Solihull - Hungerford thrashed at Hampton, Slough surprisingly undone by Oxford City 0-1 at Arbour Pk; Brackley also beaten by a single goal at home by Farsley.
Bracknell score In the first minute v Chalfont St P and win 1-0 - Marlow upset Westfield 3-0 - Ascot finally win at home and Windsor bounce back big time with a rousing 4-1 win at Longlevens.

....more tomorrow ....

- got to PLAN B as Thornbury was still waterlogged -bit further north alongside the Severn wetlands - headed up the A419 and across/round the western side of Stroud for a bit of a local derby:
HELL1W Stonehouse Town 0-0 Shortwood Utd.
- our first Sat 0-0 for nearly two years :| - you must be considered a tad unfortunate to see a 'nils each' down at STEP06 - in particular in this division where goals are usually plentiful.
- Neither side were all that solid at the back but both were hopeless in spades going forward. United were slightly hampered by having their big burly Striker red Carded on about 6' for a petulant stamp on a defender right under the Ref''s nose - but it didn't seriously imbalance the contest. Both were equally inept!
- Clubhouse was comfy enough if poorly stocked (only John Smiffs, Carlinbarf or Coors with a few ciders on tap) - and the Burgers were adequate and well-sized; Did a programme too - which gains them a point back.
- hosts ground undergoing extensive re-furb including the erection of new floodlights.
- the lack of these - meant a 14:00 KO so an earlier start/finish than was usual
- meant I picked up some points from the better half 8) as I could join her and her Bellringing associates, for a fairly serviceable Curry up in darkest Toilhurst early evening: Taste Of Tandoori (Hildens Dr) - used to be the Sunkoshi (?). I'm sure we'd eaten here before well over 25 years or more ago - and I thought it was the T of T then?? (probably should be on the AE 'wtdaue' thread?)
Anywho - Went for the brave-ish option Chef's Special - Chicken Chettinad not quite as spicy as my normal choice but pokey enough - the Mushroom bhaji was good too.
- overall a decent evening - in spite of being stuck next to the missus :P  - fortunately there was a chap there who is also an ST at RFC - and is well-balanced enough to like Ringing and football.

“Keep food off of NL” etc
Taste of Tandoori...one of my favs, and have been patronising it (and its preceding incarnations) for over thirty years...firstly as The Dilraj, through the Sunkoshi days to what it is now
One assumes that you got your complimentary drink from ‘Paula’ and his staff with your bill :)

Good to see Windsor getting their act together. I guess if you sign 356 players in a season you'll find 11 half decent ones eventually.......

Interesting graphic setting out next season's anticipated Step 4 - with one extra league being added,

Noteworthy locally - this suggests Basingstoke with move from Southern League South to the Isthmian South Central. Best hope they get their ground sorted, or there'll be two clubs playing at the same ground in different leagues at step 4 next season.

From a Winchester City pov, (without getting a tape measure out) the entire Isthmian South Central league (and a bunch of Southern League Central clubs) is closer to us than half of our league . Just the perils of being on the extreme of any geographic split, I know. A lot of clubs will be in similar positions.

Winchester City 0-1 Sholing

We've had a couple of bad results recently. This was "disappointing". Local derby against a side in the bottom half of the table. We need a result tonight against Highworth Town to get us back on track and back into third place.

and another draw. Back up into third, but our games in hand are being used up without us making any impression on the top two. It seems we have players carrying injuries etc. Still on course for the play offs though.

Agreed - good journalism and about time the local paper woke up. That and the plight of the Ice Rink it is now slowly stirring public emotions. I think its all a bit to late but it might help its long term future.
