RUMOUR - DJ Campbell or another QPR striker

by Scarface » 11 Jan 2012 15:58

My sources tell me we're sniffing around QPR to take a striker on-loan, as Mark Hughes is looking to sign new strikers in the window. I'm guessing DJ Campbell or Jay Bothroyd.

Would love it if it was Bothroyd, not so fussed on deadly Dudley

either would be great. we really need a creative midfielder though. dare i say it but tommy smith would still do a job, although i'm not sure of the welcome he would receive.

Really rate Bothroyd at this level so that would be a decent move. Campbell's a funny one, I've never been much of a fan but I could see him bringing a lot to RFC so that'd do me too.

Whilst we're talking them can we take Buzaky as well please!

I think DJ Campbell is probably the better of the two players, wasn't he the second top scorer who was English last season?

Although, I think Bothroyd is more what we need, bit of strength and the ability to bring other players to the game. Also has scored goals in this division before.

Both would be VG at our level, but we might have to get rid when we go up, esp when we qualify for Champions League

If you are loaning from a profligate club, they'll often pay some of the wages.

Not sure I can see this happening as well as Sheppard. Would leave us with a fcuk load of strikers and still no creativity.

Karacan, MAcAnuff, Legertwood, Kebe, Robson-Kanu, Pearce and Cummings have all looked creative this year, but have had nobody to pass to. Get a striker and we are pretty much there.

I think you misunderstood Ferris comment about creativity. The wingers aren't in question, although a bit more consistency would be useful, it is the central midfield. If you think that Karacan and Leigertwood are creative then you are seriously deluded. 2 goals and 3 assists between them this season is not good enough from central midfield.

Last season Brian Howard got 7 assists in 21(6) apprearances. Karacan and Howard got 6 assists in 68(3) appearances, and we all know that Brian Howard has been pretty poor us, but at least he creates chances.
