Speculation - Kevin Doyle

by moo » 29 Jan 2012 13:18

Well, he's being linked with Everton in a 'shock move', so could potentially be on the move.

I'd love him back, despite his goal drought at present.

Unlikelt I know.

he wont be coming back to the championship yet. villa are rumoured to be very keen, as will a number of other lesser premiership clubs be.

We don't want him back.

He wasn't good enough to get us promoted before. He's won't be good enough now.

He's not exactly Mr Prolific at wolves is he, 16 goals in 70 + appearances

Still do a good job with his all round game in the prem though.

He would be excellent. Fantastic hold up play and work rate. Whoever plays alongside him would get chances. And it's not like Wolves are a great team to play for if you want to get goals.

He has played two seasons in the Championship for us; the first one we got 106 points, the second time we barely missed out on auto, and then lost in the playoffs. Two of our best ever seasons in the English pyramid

As if

a) he would drop down a division, especially with the Euro's coming up
b) we could afford the £6m+ asking price
c) we would buy someone to do the job that we've bought Roberts in to do

£4m reported asking price, but otherwise agree.

Clearly variations in todays and weekend's press then. Everton were linked to him along with us for £4m. Either way it's only paper talk. Everton look like the front runners for Jellyfish of Rangers.
