Fedders to Saints? Rumour...

I think we should have got him signed up by now. I have no idea what the backup options are like, but there is probably are good reasons why they are backup.

Of all the players likely to go in the summer, I think Fedders could well be one of the ones we'd miss the most.

Surely if he is considering it you just say to him, you can go, get half a season, maybe a full season as first choice but the moment Forster is back, you'll be warming the bench.

Of course that all hinges on whether we actually offer him a new contract.

That wont end well for Feds, but good luck to him if he gets a chance in the Prem. He'll be found out pretty quickly though. Good shot-stopper, but he still doesn't command his area well enough.

i'd like him to stay but i don't think we can afford to offer him a new contract. Whether the prospect of being No 1 is enough to convince Andersen to sign a new contract is another question.

And if he's anywhere near good enough for us. His loan stint last season suggested he isn't. Time for a decision on his future as well; he needs to be playing now.

That is very true. We keep being told what a great keeper he is but I've never actually seen any evidence to back it up.

Bristol Rovers' POTS in 2010 or something, and in the team of the Toulon Tournament 2010.

That was five years ago though, you'd have expected a break through by now if he was any good. Last seasons loan wasn't a success. He even ended up on the bench at a relatively poor level. I suspect his time here is also up.

Smells like a traditional agent planted story.

If Saints want him it's a no brainer. More money, higher level and he'll back himself to take a chance should it arise.

Our options suddenly look thin at 'keeper.

Staying at Reading will almost definitely result in a pay cut for Feds as well. If he thinks he can get more somewhere else, then it's pretty likely he'll leave.

Aren't Saints also rumoured to be interested in Petr Cech as well?

Obviously. Given it's not long ago we were worrying about having too many quality 'keeper's to keep happy it's a bit of a turn around though. Now two of them are bench sitting in the PL and a third could follow suit in the summer, with the fourth having stalled. I've not seen huge amounts of the next wave, but Lincoln hasn't impressed me hugely, I've not heard anything particularly good about Henly (is he still with us?) and Ward will still be some way off.

There's not huge amounts of money and I can think of positions where I'd be happier to replace people with it.

Time to give an academy keeper a chance.... Lincoln, Moore, Henly and Ward all deserve a chance to show what they can do.

I'd be very worried about throwing an academy keeper in at the deep end in the Championship unless he'd shown himself to be an outstanding prospect. It's definitely a position I've got a few concerns about going forward

We were looking at a Polish International earlier in the season. I presume he wasn't considered good enough.

Dave-Royal Feds is on 25,000 a week at reading he could go to Southampton for more money 50,000 a week. :( :(

If that's true Dave he'll be off no matter what.

Personally, I can't see him being offered 50K a week anywhere but we will wait and see.
