Could be a good thing though - might try and send some of the youngsters our way that might not be good enough for Arsenal

Good move for Lee, and my understanding is that he will work alongside Mertesacker (not for him). But this will have major implications on the Academy EPPP category1 status.
We only scrapped through last time, primarily through Eamonn Dolan's excellent relationship with Ged Ruddy, and his superb blarney convincing the Premier League that Bearwood was going ahead and would be completed by 2017/18, with its greatly increased facilities for the Academy scholars. Lee, together with Ed Franklin, played the major role in delivering the absolutely massive documentation that was necessary for the review.
With Eamonn so sadly gone, Ed with the 1st Team and now Lee, those Premier League ties have gone and the expertise necessary for EPPP is missing. David Dodds and the remaining staff are excellent coaches, but the necessary specific presentation skills are lacking. Add Bearwood ( or its lack ) to the picture and I fear our chickens are coming home to roost.

Sounds like it is a done deal

Would think the club will be recruiting someone in to fill the vacancy

Cat 1 status was reconfirmed in the summer of 2016 which lasts until 2019. (I'm assuming, given the timing, that they had to do without Eamonn Dolan's help last time around)
So there's a bit of breathing space to get some good people in, and sort out Bearwood. If they are serious about retaining Cat 1 of course.

That would be really 8)

Just a shame there's more chance of Reading being promoted this season.

Isn't that what the board said to Brian about getting Jaap?

Bearwood is very busy, mounds of soils for the new pitches have been delivered.

Ideal preparation for playing at the stadium then.

NOW CONFIRMED ON THE RFC WEBSITE.
How many more backroom staff are we going to lose? I know the Arsenal job is a bigger opportunity, but I am beginning to wonder if all is well behind the scenes. At this rate, I cannot see us keeping our Cat 1 rating much longer.
