January Outs

by One87One » 25 Dec 2018 16:35

Harriot, Edwards and Clement have all been told they can leave. There’s already interest in Clement back in Holland.

Andresson and Popa already gone.

Interesting month ahead!

Shame about Harriot, and I thought Clement was going to be very good

I'd like to know the source given Harriott is back in the matchday squad.

I wish I had said this before he scored today, but if I remember correctly Harriot was quite impressive before he got injured so am quite surprised his name comes up as someone to offload, unless it’s because he’s injury prone I guess.

Although to be fair, who in our squad ISN'T injury prone this season and last?!?

Haven't they wrapped him up in cotton wool. Taking no chances with a rushed return. Hopefully now over the injury.

Today looked physically stronger than when he last played.

Expect Harriott is back in favour now and likely to be kept on til the end of the season. Sims probably already gone back. Rumours doing the rounds that McNulty is going back to Cov as well

Thought Harriott looked good yesterday - certainly better than any of Barrow, Aluko, or McCleary

There was a cracking stat on Twitter yesterday that said he has scored in back-to-back games, but the last game was in 2016

To be honest you'd have looked better than any of those 3, not exactly a high benchmark. Get what you're saying though.

Yeah Harriott did well. Seen him a few times in the U23 and he is definitely 100% fit.

Maybe 2 years out has given him that huge desire to get his career back on track. Thought he looked far hungrier than the others, and was actually a very tidy goal he scored. Definitely worth keeping to the end of his contract at this stage

Is Gunter injured? Because he's not even been in the squad for 4 games so it looks to me like someone's taken an interest in him and we've been protecting him.

Might also be why McLeary played like a drain yesterday.

Both can bugger off. McCleary is part of the problem at the club. Been here too long, too comfortable and he is playing like an old dog just waiting to be put down.

If someone had took an interest in Gunter we would have bundled him into the car and driven straight there.

Injured apparently

or maybe that's one of those 'injuries' that occur around the transfer window ...

Ah fair enough, I couldn't see anything about it and tbf despite the disdain some of our fans hold him in being injury prone isn't a stick they can beat him with

I Reckon McShane will probably be the first one out the door if not already gone, as he didn't hang around for the final whistle yesterday, as he was sat in his car being held up by the stewards when i left :o and he is the club captain, say it all.

If the plan is to get rid of players first there won't be much time to get in any new players by which time we will have lost another 4/5 games and be destined for Div 1
You do wonder if there is now an acceptance that after 4/5 seasons (bar 1) of fighting relegation we are saying to re-build we must accept our fate and re-build with youngsters from the lower league.

For me this would be one of the worse scenarios as I believe it will be so tough to get back that it will take us back to the bad old days which I can well remember of the 60's 70's and 80's when we just flitted between the old Div 3 and 4.
