Millsy Yay. ANOTHER central midfielder!

Ok so he was good, but weren't we saying we were well impressed by Rino and Laurent?

Pele is good for sure, but how many do we need?

How about bringing in a proper winger so we don't need to play non-wingers out wide, if money is a problem, which it is.

What happens if one or both of them is out for a long period with injury?

Snowball
Hendo There is no way that Lewis Baker earns less than Pele. :| Reported that Baker is on £40k+ a week.

For someone not making the first team, that is obscene

I mentioned a young Chelsea player on here the other week who has made just one League Cup appearance.
At the time I was told that he was on £20k per week-yesterday I learned that he is actually on £40k per week at age 18.
So the Lewis Baker figure may well be right.

I know that there is a PFA pension scheme where players are strongly advised to make contributions but , for their own sake, maybe these young guys should have some salary held back in trust at least for a few years.

Even a net income of say £5000 per week can give them the bling lifestyle that many appear to crave.
BTW the lad concerned has already got the standard model girlfriend and now has some kind of Lotus car.

Shouldn’t they be affected by pension auto-enrolment?

Yes but they have an additional scheme to accommodate AVCs.

Can’t see your average footballer settling for a standard model girlfriend anymore than I can see them driving a standard model car.....

NewCorkSeth Oh man, Lewis Baker back would just be ideal.

Not going to happen -

Lewis Baker will spend the 2020/21 season on loan with Turkish club Trabzonspor.

May not be a bad thing Pele not coming back, as good as he was at times for us. Didn’t he have a bit of an attitude issue post-lockdown?

Rino & Laurent should be 1st choice as they are the long-term - what we need is a backup option who’s not expecting to be starting every week. Gunnarson back in the day would have been perfect. Do def need to strengthen though

Didn't look after himself in lock down. Returned less than match fit. May explain the journeyman he is. Has the talent. Lacks the application. Not sure that Pele is a actually a Paunovic type of player. Perhaps a quick fix given the very obvious lack of depth in the squad.
