Snowflake Royal I suspect there are a fair few free bargains out there now, more than ever, as clubs don't renew contracts due to covid finances

The issue is that if we are restricted to 1 year contracts younger players will most likely look elsewhere.

I seem to remember that when Forest were under a similar embargo, they could only sign free transfers and have a squad of 23 players (not including academy) and from once they hit 23, it had to be on a one out, one in basis with the players coming in being on less money than the player going out.

To be honest, I think that's a better way of managing FFP than just dishing out fines and points deductions. It maintains a level of competitiveness but forces the club to actually address the fundamental issue of their overspend.

I'm pretty sure the only clubs who've actually been deducted points under FFP are Birmingham, who lied about the terms of a deal and Wednesday who made false declarations on their accounts. And that's why I think Derby are fcuked and we were never seriously in danger of getting a points deduction.

Our last three signings of ageing players called David were failures, so on that basis I am against Hoilett.

Yes please for Bolasie. Hasn’t quite managed to replicate his Palace form but should still be useful at this level.

An aging player called Junior is quite amusing. Perhaps he should change his name to Senior?

of course it never tells the whole story, but whoscored seemed to suggest Bolasie had a decent season for Boro last year. Would happily have him match those stats for us over a season

Hoilett seems more a defensive winger

Didn't realise that Hoilett plays as a winger for the Canada national team - have Reading had many Canadian players in the past?

I would take one of them probably Bolasie but would prefer someone younger as well, like Viv Solomon Otabor or Jordan Ibe or Josh Sims. I wonder whether Andros Townsend wants to stay in the area and would take a massive paycut.

Senior sounds more Mexican drug lord though

Wycombe Royal
linkenholtroyal Jordan Ibe.

Really?

There is a good player in there, he is only 25 and has premiership experience, he is worth more of a punt than junior hoillet

There is but I believe he is struggling with his mental health at the moment, so may be taking time away from the game.

Looks like we had a triallist play today, seems to be Kyle Edwards. 23 and left WBA this summer.

Yep - also think Steve Hetzke may have had family links to Canada

Bolassie only started 12 games (12(3) but was MotM twice and his
3 goals, 3 assists were in just 935 minutes, one every 156 minutes

Not bad!

Makes you wonder why he only started 12 games then.
