it's still very early in the window. The Euro ae only just finished. The business will pick up soon and the PL clubs will be assessing their squads I'm sure a few more will be made available on the loan market soon too

From Despair To Where? What other LBs are there available on a free who would take a 1 year contract? We need to at least take a look.

Yeah, we could try Bristow but what if he's the only option we've got and sinks instead of swimming? He's great as an option but I wouldn't want to place the responsibility of being first choice for the whole season on his shoulders

I agree.

It's just a bit lazy and childish to try to use two other players that I've given an opinion on for different reasons to try to make me look like a hypocrite on this one.

And I think Hound, and you, are better than that.

oh give over. Just highlighting you were keen on Edwards despite very limited playing time, but a No for this chap - and theres what 20 odd games difference over the last 3 year. Not trying to make this some AE style bitchfest

tbh for me its a simple as if they are any good on trial, then take them on. Both only short term options probably anyway.

Are Bournemouth also interested though? Out, if not.

looked absolutely toilet TBH, if Ethan Bristow is worse than that he may as well apply for a job down ASDA now

Very unusual situation for a Triallist I would guess.

Normally you would train for a week or two and likely get an hour against a local non-league side not a home game v a PL side with a stadium of fans just excited to be back.

You want to impress but at the same time you need to look after yourself in case it doesn't work out and you need to move on.

Tough to make a fair judgement on him as a fan based on these circumstances.

Thanks for a balanced view - unlike some of those on here writing him on the basis of one performance .. like the people who wrote off Tom Mcintyre after the Preston game.

He wasn't particularly bad anyway. He was ok - quite big and quick, nice touch and couple of good runs. But caught out of position a few times and some of his crossing was poor

I'd be ok with signing him, but it wouldnt excite me either

HE had young inexperienced centre back beside him and Ejaria in front of him who we know can be a little inconsistent defensively. He looked technically fine, played some nice passes and didn’t do too much wrong without doing anything exciting either.
Not easy to judge on an hour, but we’ve had players do far worse in their first games and go on to be legends !

ITK Eddie says neither of the trialists are coming:

Both Kyle Edwards and Lazaar have been told they won’t be joining #ReadingFC. The royals are going into this week with a bit more clarity on what they can do transfer-wise.

Maybe they decided not to sign him after his shoddy tracking back for Charlon’s equaliser the other day

Reckon we dodged a bullet with this one.
