Burnley reportedly interested in Carroll as a replacement for Chris Wood.

Carroll is on record as saying he found it hard being in the North last season away from him family and didn't want to do that again, hence had turned down offers previously - be interesting if the chance of a last hurrah in the PL outweighs that. No doubt a PL relegation battle is more appealing that a Championship one.

I really like Carroll, and would be a shame to lose him. But we've only won one of the 7 games he's played, so won't exactly be the end of the world.

Good all round play, but as predicted, he's not scoring much... disallowed worldies aside.

A fit Joao would be more effective I think

But I’ve really enjoyed having him here. A real credit to himself with his attitude and fitness. Best of luck to him

Not down to him but how we play, get him in the game.

Yeah, but that's why I didn’t think he would score many. Because we don't cross the ball.

Interesting* that there has been absolutely no statement from the club on Carroll as yet. No note of thanks as we part ways or any note that he has signed.

I assume he'll need to have re-signed by tomorrow to be eligible for Luton on Weds?

I hope he does stay on for the remainder of the season and we can shift Puscas on. Joao returning is a bonus and Meite within the next month potentially and we have 3 very capable strikers for the rest of the season.

Wishful thinking here, but maybe we need the Rafael move to go through before we can re-sign Carroll.

been like this all season hasn't it - 'when x player returns....'

Our first 11 could be a match for anyone. Shame its never going to happen :(

Wonder if Carroll would consider staying with us until another firm offer comes in - extend for another 2 weeks or so. Would still give him a chance to move in Feb, and will give us time to get Joao back (and prob injured again) before he goes

I'd certainly look to keep him until the end of the season - but yes until February so he can work a move elsewhere would be alright for him, I just wouldn't want that to happen as that leaves us with Joao and Puscas until Meite returns.

In an ideal world, it would be Puscas out, Carroll in.

Rafael contract terminated by mutual consent. Free up wages for Carroll?

Good point. Guess a lot depends on what sort of offers Carroll receives. If a low end Premier League come in and offer 30k for 4 months then we just can't compete. Not even sure we can guarantee starts with Joao coming back.

This might well be true but how do you know this? Technically he is a free agent so of course he would have said goodbye, doesn't mean we can't offer him a new deal now that Rafael has gone.

No reason to doubt that unless and until something else announced.

Would be very very very happy to be proved wrong but was told weeks ago that he wasn't going to be signing an extension on his deal.

I wish him well.
Very good first season with Fulham away a real high point.
Very inconsistent last season.
Didn’t play much this season and the hand injury and Cup blooper lowlights.

Comes across as a good man.
