Sutekh Some Baggies fans are apparently really critical of WBA over this signing saying it’s a real lack of ambition and how utterly useless he was when Reading turned and pretended to play football just before Xmas. They’ll apparently now have Carroll, Zohore and Hugill fighting over the one striker spot they usually play.

They're free to release him if they want, of course at that point he can only play for us this season if anyone were to offer him a contract.

He can't play for us as he was still under a contract at he end of the transfer window. He is stuck at WBA until the summer now.

Didn’t realise there was animosity between them. But this article suggests he was disappointed to not be in Bruce’s plans and let him go.

I'd have him back for sure. He still has it offers something different to Joao and potentially another dimension. I think a 2 year deal would be sensible

Seems Carroll may have more options available to him. His previous desire to play for a club within commuting distance of his family home may no longer apply given recent news.

I'd have him back and still feel as if we are reasonably appealing to him, although he may get other offers he'd consider elsewhere.

I’d at least give him a call and see how the land lies and whether any deal could be offered.

There's definitely decent selling points with ourselves. Welcomed by supporters, good performances during his short stay here, good amount of football (probably due to Joao's injury but nonetheless, got in ahead of Puscas most of the time) and we can probably offer him a respectable wage at this level as well.

Using FM's wages, he was only earning £10k p/w at WBA. Take it as a pinch of salt or whatever else, but it's some figure to work from and I'd imagine we can certainly offer something in and around that.

I don't think I want to offer him more than about £8k and a 1 year, maybe option to extend.

Yeah I'd agree with something right that, which I'd say is fairly respectable at this level really, it's more than what some can offer, less than others. Would understand if he went elsewhere though as well.
