SoMeone on Twitter posted he’s going and Kia is making €300k out of it. Why the hell are we getting nothing here? He’s under contract and wanted elsewhere…that commands a transfer fee surely?

Not if the club won't pay it and we really want rid.

He won't be worth much.At least his wages are off the books. That’s welcome news. How the hell Kia gets £300k is beyond me. Presumably the buying club pay that fee. Football is rotten.

Yeah shite that Kia profits but it’s 500k off our wage bill. So if he’s made that happen don’t really care if he benefits

Guess the transfer fee has basically gone to him

Just Googled a list of his clients and seems like both Abbey and Camara have him as their agent

Is Paunovic a client of Kia’s too? Would make sense with Pauno bigging up Camara’s performances during all his recent interviews.

Of course Camara is yet another player that is out of contract at the end of the season.

Let's say he's on £20k a week.

That's probably about £450k left on his contract. If we given Kia £150k to help get him off our books, and the buyer gives him £150k to find them a player. He makes £300k. And we save £300k.

I hate the agent culture in football, but that is good financial sense. Hell giving him the whole £300k to save £150k still makes some sense.

In this market, he’s got to be worth £1m though. Yes he’s been poor this season, but overall reputation won’t have been damaged too much.

It’s absolutely crazy that Kia takes the transfer fee. How on Earth are we going to get out of this financial mess if he’s getting a slice out of the deals?

This is precisely why you need a Hammond/DOF type or role to maximise profits from outgoing players. Seems to be completely lost on the muppets who run this shambles

Possibly, but with the club in the situation it is in there probably wasn't a club willing to offer that much as they knew we would want shot of him as quickly as possible.

Think they would've asked for a fee if he was still playing well and starting every game though.

no way worth a million with 6 months left

The alternative was paying his contract in full, or possibly subsidising his wages on a loan somewhere. For once I suspect the agent has done us a favour in helping get rid and make some saving, though obviously also used it as an opportunity to line his own pockets.

Also, if he agent wasn't Kia and it was someone else and they pocketed the money, this would be a non-story. If his new club want to pay Kia that money, that's on them.

Rafael wasn't worth a million for me, any transfer fee would have been good for him, but I'm happy enough to see his wages off the bill. Even if Kia has received a nominal fee for this, we've still made a gain from this anyway, but obviously I'd have preferred that few hundred thousand going into the club rather than this agent who I still don't know what he actually does at the club.

For what it is worth, “someone on Twitter” is Brazilian journalist Thiago Fernandes, who works for major Brazilian news site Universo Online.

Absolutely. At his age, having lost his place and just thrown in goals against a non league side?

You're looking at a max of £100k, not a definite £1m.

Briazilian clubs aren't exactly Filthy rich for the most part either.

So with Rafael officially gone, hopefully that frees up room to bring somebody in. Brandon Mason at LB who we have had on trial would be a decent start ahead of our game this week or maybe even tying Carroll down if he accepts our offer as well.

It's ironic that our big spending spree a few summers ago (Rafael, Joao, Puscas, Ejaria) has seen 3 of the 4 either leave or reported to leave, with the exception of Joao. The definition of not worked.

Where is Ejaria reported to leave?
