Snowflake Royal
Stranded Reports in Portugal linking us with a loan move for Porto's defensive midfielder. Played 31 times (over 2000 mins) in La Liga for Alaves last season on loan.

Allegedly will include a purchase option of 5m included. Imagine the only way this happens is if that is not binding in any way beyond setting a known fee for him if we were to want to buy later.

We could do with another midfielder and at 25 is a decent age.

Find this a worrying sign that we haven’t learnt our lesson at all and plan to return to being crazily profligate the second we can.

Sounds a potentially quality player though.

Quite a jump there but get your concern. We simply aren't allowed to tie ourselves into future fees, so not sure this is something to worry about.

We will be asking Porto to cover some if not all of his wages and paying no loan fee, so the clause is likely just there as a sweetener, to show we might actually want him. Also let's other clubs know what he's available for whilst in the shop window.

I've seen various reports suggesting he's on between £6k and £7.5k a week at Porto. Even if we're covering his whole wage, he may not necessarily be a budget buster.

Maybe the fee is linked to promotion? And yes Lol I know I know we aren’t getting promoted. That could circumvent the efl restrictions.

It does seem Ince is building a more physical and rugged squad which will make us harder to beat. No bad thing.

Pretty sure Bowen is already on record saying we aren't able to do that. We cannot commit any money to transfers. Just wages.

Loum 10 yellow but no reds last season. With Hutchinson, Fornah and Hendrick around I think we will be a much tougher side next season.

YorkshireRoyal99 Would add quality to our midfield by the sounds of it, have never heard of him before, but would suggest given his current club and where he was last season that he would be capable in our team. More a case of if he can adjust to the Championship or not.

The £5m option to buy, like probably every fan, I would be extremely wary of that given our recent transfer history.

It's not £5m. It's euros, so that's a bit more sensible, and he appears to be on low wages also.

He gives me the Emerse Fae's. I'm excited.

If he gives you the Emerse Fae's, he'll be a fcuking lightweight with zero work effort.

Seems really common that Portuguese clubs lump on an option to buy clause when they loan players out.

No idea how good he is but in our position (should the EFL approve it) signing an international who played 31 times in La Liga last year sounds like quite a coup.

Can he play LB

There were countless times last season where players just glided through our midfield, if Ince can stop that dead then we might have a chance.

As long as we instil the proper discipline and priorities... Rino and Laurent were plenty capable, they just got instructed to play more rampaging by Pauno about 9 games in to his first season.

If this bloke any good a €5million option could be a very smart move.
A good season with us would potentially see that valuation jump and a purchase in May and a sell on in August could give us a nice windfall.
If he has an average season we just don’t exercise the option.

Didnt see much rampaging going on. We were utterly powderpuff in midfield, throughout the season.

The problem is, this is Dai we are talking about, who has previously broken our transfer records on Sone Aluko and George Puscas. Hopefully we have learnt our lesson and potentially whatever fee we get for Puscas this summer would go a significant way to funding any potential transfer next season, if we decide to take that option up.

The guy has to actually get through the door first of course.

I’ve checked the EFL agreement and there is nothing in it to prevent us selling on a player we don’t actually own.
Not checked any other regs so don’t spend the cash yet…
